More diverse PvP mini games, stuff like Runescape’s Castle Wars, Soul wars, Stealing Creation etc. Or stuff like you what find in WoW PvP, with carts and strongholds and stuff.
I'd love better hairstyles. The hairstyles in FFXIV are terrible compared to other MMO's- even ESO hairstyles are better in comparison bc they have a more variety from the Crown store. The hairs in FFXIV are too anime or they just are lackluster- but NPCs can have more stylized hairstyles & players get a manager cut or another anime bang hair.
I'd also want hairstyles from the created FF characters from solo titles. Lulu's hair, Yuna's hair from FFX (not X-2), Rikku's hair, Tifa's hair, Aeriths Ponytail, Beatrix' Hair, Selphie's hair, Fangs Hair, Zells hair, Irvines Hair, Terra Branfords Hair, Ashe's Hair, Penelo's Hair, Fran's Hair--- not hairstyles inspired by these characters, bc they'd be dumbed down, but the actual hair ported/ designed for FFXIV.

Right that reminds me! If we can't get the blessing for parsers, can we at least get something like Wildstar's end of instance scorecard?
Something vague and private that tells you how you're doing compared to your teammates so players can see if they need to improve but doesn't give you enough information to single people out.
I recall Utsusemi: Ichi being acquired by doing a fairly easy quest so if you were a ninja and didn't have that there was a reason people looked down upon you. Ni I think came from a seal battle. NIN were immediately kicked from the party if they refused to fill a tank role. The only spells I recall being expensive for WHM back then were the teleport spells. Which I think also came from doing quests. The highest priced BLM spell I remember seeing was Warp II.And then we get that one spell that needs to be farmed/quested and it sells for 88043480932840940 million gil on the MB. Newer players can't afford it and get bashed for not having it in group content. Remember, a NIN without Utsusemi: Ichi or Ni will be kicked immediately from a party. Or what if the WHM cannot afford Raise, or Haste, or Protect?
Honestly I think the NA players had some aversion to doing side quests and activities as there were loads of things that came from easy sources that skyrocketed ridiculously in price once the game was ported to that side of the world. It was also about the time I started encountering people joining parties with gear 20 levels out of date and not having the subjob quest completed at higher levels on more than a very occasional basis.
I dunno about other MMO's but I don't like how I need to finish the MSQ to unlock certain raids and other content that really have nothing to do with the main story.
It honestly makes me rush through the story and skip it a lot of the time because I just want to do that other content.
It's one of the reason why I've basically messed the story up for myself even back in ARR it turned it into a skip fest for me.
Honestly there are far more things in FFXIV that i miss when playing other games then vice versa. But of those things other games have that FFXIV dosnt I think I miss pull and knockback abilities the most. There is something very satisfying about sending an enemy flying off a cliff, or yoinking one from far away into an aoe murder field.
We technically do have a few enemy moving abilities in FF(BLU) but they cant be used to knock something off a cliff edge and kill it with falling damage. This makes me sad.
If I were to wish anything copied from another MMO it would be SWTORs story flashpoints (MSQ dungeons) not needing the holy trinity setup. DPS get fast pops because they dont need a healer or a tank as trash mobs are slightly stronger versions of normal mobs and on boss fights they have a few group heal terminals that go on cooldown after use. In FF14 they could be some form of aether cloud that does a party wide heal over time if needed ( say the whole grp are dps). fast story progress with little waiting on the regular content across the 15-70 experience.
Then keep the optional dungeons, hard mode, end of msq boss trials and expert/70-80 dungeons stuff to the reg holy trinity required
the froundry from Neverwinter, custom user made content, maps, stories, ncps, enemies, etc. <3<3<3
battlesystem from Guild Wars 2, a much faster, more dynamic with less skills battlesystem.
voiced misions from ESO: even the most boring quests are a bit better when we heard the NPCs talking, and see it closer to the camera.
Black Desert Online lighting engine, I mean it looks just SO good IMO!
the Mood from "the witcher saga" a much darker setting with mods adult themes. (okay not a MMO, but still had to say it.)
I know none of these things have any chance at all of appearing here, but still my honest answer![]()
A Spanish version of the game. I would loooooove to play this game with Spanish voices.
I suppose this is already kinda turning into "what would you want for the next MMO" but... I have to echo what others have said in wanting a more "open" open world. What else comes to mind.... ah, yes. I'd like for raids to be a continuous affair rather than each tier being broken down into different trial platforms. It's kinda funny because I get more of that "raid feel" from the 24-mans than I do the 8-man raids. I would love to have that sort of sense of traversal, like you're actually exploring and making your way through an area. As far as the logistics of it, well, I suppose you'd have to have a checkpoint system of some kind... Idk.
Other than that.... Hmmm... Overworld PvP.
