I'm not really familiar with 3D modelling or modding but I do know that one thing that people have brought up elsewhere is that mods can be more detailed because they only have to account for the computer of the person using that model, but the core game needs to be able to function on anyone's computer with the minimum requirements.

So, is it perhaps something about the complexity of the character models needing to meet those minimum requirements, where again "modders can do it" because modders don't have to account for anyone else?


Also the "working towards alleviating things" doesn't necessarily mean "we will make new hats work even if old ones don't". It may mean they are trying to find a more global workaround at which point all hats can work, instead of having to compromise on the design of new hats in the meanwhile.

Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't, we'll have to wait and see. I'm just saying they've clearly said they're going to do something, so these responses (not you, necessarily) saying "they said you'd get nothing and never said you'd get anything else ever so deal with it" just aren't true.
