The removed parts of ARR MSQ didn't save any time at all

I believe someone did the math and about 20 hours of questing was removed in the revamp, so you are wrong.

20 hours sounds far more probable.

I ended up getting sidetracked with hunt logs, but I've done exactly one MSQ quest so far on an alt: the Lv20 one that sends you to check out the sylphs because they might be summoning Ramuh.

I remember it was originally something like "drop in at Fullflower Comb to pick up a gift for the sylphs; get sent to slay a random ochu because sylphs like ochu root; back to Fullflower, probably more talking, now you can continue to Hawthorne". We may have also had to check the beehives.

Now it's "go to Hawthorne".

I think I've saved twenty minutes already.

And my goodness, if the rest of the game has been edited like that then it is absolutely going to speed through compared to the original pace.

Lets think about things when was shadowbringers and when was the crystal tower series? Lets see like 4 years apart.

One thing you will find if you are paying attention to the story is that content being old does not make it irrelevant. Things that seemed unimportant at the time come back much later and become relevant again.

For a new player experiencing the story, they're not four years apart anyway.

Complain in what context? Did you recommend it but say "the story is great but they force you to do raids" and they didn't like the sound of that?

Seriously, it's part of the MSQ now. Would you complain if that same story was added as a new MSQ patch with some dungeons attached to it? That's all it really is now, except instead of being made from scratch as part of Shadowbringers, they've woven in older content and made it part of the core story.

You probably told them something like "yeah, the make you do raids like in WoW, but to complete the story! It's unfair and it sucks!". Instead of "yeah they are cool bigger dungeons, with 3 parties who usually do their own thing" which is what they are.

You can easily make a PF that says 'first time unsync plz halp'. All you need is one person to help you through most of the time

Though this mostly sounds like a 'they didn't remove WHAT I WANT from the game, so it's a waste of time' type post. Stuff is connected in the story, but if you joined back in 2013 then you must play very randomly off and on. Your levels are everywhere. There's a good chance you haven't seen a lot of the newest storyline stuff.

I'd honestly suggest in getting one class through the MSQ to 5.0 before complaining about a few of the 'points' you are trying to make.

But if you're throwing around everything you're saying as 'fact' then I don't think anyone will be empathetic to what you're saying in the slightest. Should really take a step back and approach it more level headed.

Join date here 2013, which means they've been playing at least 7yrs already, (unless they brought the account...) yet are complaining about the game having group content in the MSQ, which really isn't that new to the game. Smells like bait honestly....

God forbid the game make you play it, especially where story is involved.
If raiding is all you care about, play another MMO. XIV is heavily story based, that's the major draw for many (dare I say most) players.

If ALL you care about is story on the other hand, maybe just watch it on youtube. It's still an MMO, you still gotta play the thing. And you'll save money that way too.

They just seem to hate the game. It's funny cuz in an older thread from earlier this year they talk about how toxic some people are on the internet, and then they make this thread.
