I mean if you want to get technical, of course they're going to be more prevalent in the evenings, where prime time for EST has already subsided and is reaching the later half in PST, and is in the dead of morning for EU people. So naturally there'll be far less of other PFs and more of them advertising night time activities. Its the same concept with TV show scheduling where you see raunchier stuff the later you stay up.
At this exact moment on Primal, 7:34 EST/4:34 PST, there are 58 PFs, 0 of which are nightclub advertisements. Over on Aether, there's 66 PFs, only 3 of which are nightclubs, or 4.5%. During prime time hours, those nightclub advertisements are extremely out of the way. I can't speak for Crystal. And these numbers are during dead times where the content has all been exhausted so people are occupying themselves with other things. Can guarantee ya this upcoming week the nightclub PFs will make up 1% of less even in the evenings with it being a fresh patch.
But even beyond that, they're already out of the way in the first place. They're not advertising in the duty roulette section like all of those 'selling content' people do, they're all the way off in the 'none' section, meaning unless you for some reason specifically wanted to go check out whats happening in the none section, you'd never see them anyway unless you play at like 3am in the morning when there's 0 of basically any other PF. It's far from clutter, as Anatha said. In fact, I went for entire weeks without even realizing they were in the PF until a friend of mine mentioned them to me.

One has to wonder if certain posters somehow benefit from or partake in these shady advertisements themselves given the intensity in which they seek to downplay them as a problem and inconvenience.
I know that sometimes, all one has to do is put a character name through Google or some other search engine and it comes up with a Twitter profile or some such with evidence suggesting that the above theory is correct. I wonder if that could be the case here as well?

One never knows I guess. I'm just not brave enough to find out for myself. The internet can be a fascinating yet horrifying place. One has to wonder if certain posters somehow benefit from or partake in these shady advertisements themselves given the intensity in which they seek to downplay them as a problem and inconvenience.

Certain things just don't belong in PF or in character search info, for that matter.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:

And one can also wonder if the people who are adamantly against something quite harmless and inofensive aren't just throwing a smokescreen to hide their shame in partaking of these activities...One has to wonder if certain posters somehow benefit from or partake in these shady advertisements themselves given the intensity in which they seek to downplay them as a problem and inconvenience.

Hypocrites are usually first in line in denouncing their own activities.
Feel free to contact a GM or developer and ask them what their thoughts on this supposed 'harmless' and 'inoffensive' activity. I'm quite sure they'll have a different take on such things...
I believe Yoshi-P has stated repeatedly that he does not wish players to use the game for such a purpose.
That it happens is arguably inevitable, though if people do not even have the decency to do it behind closed doors...and falsely claim that it isn't a big deal when caught, then that is quite troubling.
On a personal note, I believe that ignorance is bliss. I don't want to know or see what players in this game get up to behind closed doors. I also don't want to see the party finder or fellowship system misused.
I don't believe that to be an unreasonable stance I'd wager a lot of people posting here feel the same way.
There's no wondering, that's just a fact. One has to wonder if certain posters somehow benefit from or partake in these shady advertisements themselves given the intensity in which they seek to downplay them as a problem and inconvenience.

Here's a personal anecdote for you.How the heck is a PF ad for sex "evidence" that grooming minors exists? That's ridiculous. There are soooooooooooooooo many people in this thread erroneously conflating two completely different things for no reason other than the fact that some random person brought up grooming unsolicited in a thread that is about adults.
I played on Balmung for 3 years. I never personally roleplayed, but you end up rubbing shoulders with and make friends with RPers out of sheer circumstance. One of the members of my FC was heavily invested in the ERP scene, and was pretty knowledgeable about its major players. He once took us to Ul'dah to give us a tour and point out the 'who's-who', mainly for some laughs.
He pointed out at least three people whose main identifying factor was that they were known to be underage. He later ended up in a public 'relationship' with one of them, and I lobbied to have him removed from the FC on account of him literally being an active pedophile. I was shut down by the Officers and they told me to 'let it go' and acted like it wasn't a big deal.
Welcome to Balmung.

Surprise surprise, looks like puritans are on every MMO out there
