Advertising sexual content in party finder

It's a crime to solicit or have cybersex with a minor in the US. Cybersex does not have to involve video or images of the participants. It can even be chat only. Germany itself takes the abuse of children seriously, so I seriously doubt Germany allows it either. Taking steps to prevent putting yourself in that position is a good idea. Not advertising ERP is a start.

I kinda wonder how it'd work with a case in a game like this tho.
There's a massive difference between an adult that deliberately on purpose seeks out minors to do that with on social media sites for example and adults seeking out other adults to ERP with in FFXIV but then some minor decides to lie about their age.
Like the two are miles apart and I don't even think that it's the adults fault in the latter example unless it was VERY obvious that they were a minor and they kept going.

It's like the difference between deliberately hitting someone with your car and hitting someone with your car by mistake.
I honestly am not so sure that you'd even get in trouble for real so long as it was a plausible mistake.

Tbh, the term "ERP" developed as a mask for people who just wanted to cyber. Let's be honest, no one truly just "ERP's" and says its just for story, there is no such thing as that. That's like saying a bad porno about the missing salami from the pizza delivery man is "full of story". You can tell a story without adding in how your character humps. A LOT of ERP is literally just cybering, the fact people seem to believe otherwise is just how far everyone's deluded themselves. It's just an easy and convenient way to go "it's not me, IT'S MY CHARACDURRRRR". It's disgusting that it has been allowed to become so public because of this too. No one has the right to act superior when they're advertising they want to type how pixels smash against each other in an online game. No one. Get mad, you know it's true, I know plenty of people who even admit "I just wanna write raunchy stuff" for lack of more accurate quoting....

Let me be clear, I'm not condoning the spammed PF listings. I don't necessarily enjoy it being everywhere, but at the same time, I'm mature enough to look past it and filter out what I'm looking for in PF. I E/RP often (in-game rp is strange, I can't quite understand how one does it) but I do come from decades of descriptive rp via other platforms; and I do, in fact (much to your supposed dismay) find that erotic scenes can help aid a story. Sorry not sorry, I guess. Folks RP differently, and to some, it a need. You can disagree all you want.

Alas, this is diverting off topic. The topic at hand is finding ERP in the listing of PF, I'm assuming, and how folks have an issue with this. We're not talking about whether or not "ERP adds to a RP story or not".

Yeah I pretty much agree with this honestly. More to the point, I don't think *individuals* should be advertising this kind of thing in PF. Do you have a brothel or a club you want to get people to come to? Fine, put up a PF. But when you start having every rando put up a PF ad trying to get laid then you're going to end up swamped with the stuff so we should probably avoid that.

Whether or not it adds tot he story, it shouldn't be a thing tbh. You can write 2 characters having a kid, having relations, etc etc without describing every detail of "the act" which then makes the ERP.... The reason I mention that is because if that wasn't a thing, we wouldn't see these kinda PF's. Really people shouldn't need to "filter" anything out, it just shouldn't be public. Simple as that. It's like saying having very specific bullets firing out of a gun in a candy store is what makes it so horrible to see when you just backtrack a second and realize "wait... why is there a gun in a candy store to begin with?" Same case with people are saying they shouldn't be seeing ERP in the PF advertised but also... WhY iS It A tHiNg To BeGiN wItH iN tHiS gAmE????

Removing Erp Advertisements from the PF(Which yes they should be removed) is like knocking the cherry off a Sundae. Its not minimizing so much as its just removing Evidence of its existence from view.

How the heck is a PF ad for sex "evidence" that grooming minors exists? That's ridiculous. There are soooooooooooooooo many people in this thread erroneously conflating two completely different things for no reason other than the fact that some random person brought up grooming unsolicited in a thread that is about adults.

I'm not angry or upset. I just feel that they should be left out of the PF. If they are just clubs, that's fine. However, brothels and clubs with "benefits" are what I was talking about. You very clearly haven't seen Crystal though, because brothels and the like are being promoted at just about any time of the day, and I feel that it would be more tasteful to keep such listings out of the PF. That's all. Are there a ton of them? No. But it is more than 1% I can assure you. I'm not requesting that SE stops people from engaging in this behavior. I seriously don't care, so long as no laws are broken of course.. I just don't think that they need to promote themselves in the PF. I don't think that is unreasonable. If they are permitted to continue doing so it is really no skin off my back and I will continue to ignore them like I always have. I'm just voicing my opinion on the matter.
