May not inherently be a fetish, but for some they surely do protay it as such within their RP. How common or not it is idk but just with my casual time on a RP server I have seen it a few times. Though it propably is not done with ill intent just lack of understanding.

Since as they said eith enough effort and mental gymnastics one can literally turn anything into a fetish. Though I feel that is part of them problem for some sexuality is treated like a thing.

Just as an aside, you probably don't want to group 'futa' with gay and lesbian stuff. It's a fetish, whereas the latter two are not.

You're right, they're not but all the same the whole area of listing what you're "into" is kinda... weird/creepy to show in game. Mainly listed what I see the most in game. Usually it lists like this....

It's totally normal to have a gay/lesbian kink. Just like people have a race, size, accent, smoking, literally anything kink.

Sorry, but roleplaying a gay character doesn't make it inherently sexual. Sure people ERP as them, as they ERP any type of character, but to act like RPing as a gay character is so easily a fetish contributes to the belief that being gay is somehow more sexual than being straight.

This is kind of murky, because as long as you're focusing on the sexuality of your character, like it must be known that they are gay or straight or pan or whatever, then that's making the RP, E or otherwise, inherently sexual. If you were just RPing, and then somehow broached the subject, that's when it wouldn't be.

Like even just saying, "I am gay." or "I am straight." is inherently sexual. It has everything to do with sex and sexuality. Like, just replace the terms with their more formal ones and it's easier to see, "I am homosexual." or "I am heterosexual." or "I am pansexual." If you focus on it, like it's in your RP flag, and you're making it known 100% of the time, that's inherently always steering the RP towards being sexual. That's what people are going to hone in on.

And of course, LGBT gets fetishized more than hetero does because being hetero is the milquetoast norm. LGBT is also still considered taboo for quite a lot of people, believe it or not, so there are those who make a fetish out of it for that reason too. It's also quite easy for what's trendy or aesthetically pleasing to get fetishized, things like muscles/muscular women, androgyny, cat girls etc. Being LGBT has been fairly trendy for the last decade and a half, so much so that entire TV series and other media have spawned out of it as its own category of show type. With things like Yaoi and Yuri having been a thing for a long time, it's really not hard to say that it has been fetishized and that there is a substantial portion of the RPing playerbase that think of it only in terms of their fetish. Most people aren't what they profess to be online, particularly within MMOs.

Roleplaying a gay character isn't a fetish all the time. But there are people that focus solely on erp with their characters for the sole sake of having lesbian or gay sex with other characters, and in those cases I'd say yes.

It's not always a fetish. It's not a fetish by default. But if the character is made for a fetish purpose and played just for that fetish, then they are. But in terms of gay/lesbian fetish we're not talking about rounded characters that happen to be gay, we're talking about throw away alts and characters made primarily or exclusively for the erp.

Another thing I've noticed is that a lot of fellowships are now being used as a makeshift adhoc ERP hub, with descriptions ranging from risque all the way to just blatantly saying it's a sex work FC.

I...kinda sense a double standard here. For as long as video games existed people cry about "THE CHILDREN" and parents etc. blame all their personal failures when it comes to parenting their childs on whatever is most convenient. For some americans it's the violent games that trigger school shootings. Strangely here in germany we also play doom and don't go into school with a shotgun...wonder why. And now every erpler etc. is a potential predator, neat. I really wonder why we have so few cases here in Europe when it comes to that, maybe because we actually teach people and don't give the responsibility to a company etc. and actually believe that you have a brain even if you aren't 18. If i had a child i would 100% sit down and check what my kiddo is doing online especially when they are underaged.

So yeah, i have news for ya, the whole internet is full of garbage that children shouldn't have access to and every place with a chat that isn't public will be used at least once for not so nice things. But is that really the responsibility and fault of the company and the peaceful majority?

I'm not on Crystal, but I'm also not a puritanical zealot who believes that all behavior should be outlawed because someone might do something that might offend me that I'll never actually be witness to.

Simply put, you might be happier if you started minding your own business, rather than everyone else's. Or more accurately your imagined idea of what their business is.

Overly judgmental people, to the extent that they project behavior and criminality on to people without evidence, are miserable existences.

If you witness public displays of rule breaking behavior, feel free to report it. But dont assume people are doing something you have no evidence to support.

I've visited a few of these places on my dc in the interim and have found that they are just really neat looking clubs and by and large very very quiet for how many can often be found inside them.

I think I've only ever been spoken to by one person who I would guess to be staff, who sent me a tell asking if I'd like to buy a drink. I said "no thanks" and that was the end of it.

You're simply overblowing stuff that is clearly very much opt in.

I don't really care what people do in the privacy of their own chats. However, I do feel that recruiting for such things on the Party Finder is a bit...excessive. On their own servers? Fine. Wanna travel to another to spam a local chat for "recruitment"? That's fine too. Seriously, I don't care. But there's no real need to add clutter to the Party Finder.

It's a crime to solicit or have cybersex with a minor in the US. Cybersex does not have to involve video or images of the participants. It can even be chat only. Germany itself takes the abuse of children seriously, so I seriously doubt Germany allows it either. Taking steps to prevent putting yourself in that position is a good idea. Not advertising ERP is a start.
