I'm gonna say something unpopular: I don't like to rush.

Someone wanting to take their time in content or NOT rush is not the same as someone opting to torture your party to watch them suffer. The big difference is, YOU decide how you get these parties.. Duty roulette is not at your whim, you are at its. Which again, all you need is communication. I can't believe how hard people fight OTHER PEOPLE'S PLAYSTYLE for content they can clear regardless. Worry about your damn selves ffs.

Being at the whims of the Duty Roulette doesn't mean that the roulette defaults to non-rushing and taking your time.

And yes, Doozer, if 3 people want the tank to rush but they don't, they are entitled and demanding their party to conform to them. It's suddenly not entitlement and forcing to conform just because you happen to defend non-rushing tanks.

1 person's whims > 3 people's whims just because you happen to allign with the singular person's whims and this goes for everyone.

PF doesn't give those sweet roulette bonuses.
Someone shouldn't be banished from (for starters) levelling roulettes just because they're not super meta fast.

There is no "3 people want it this way and 1 doesn't!" regardless of which way the wind is blowing. Just take the 3 seconds as the instance is loading in to actually talk to each other.
It's all assumptions regardless of what you think the meta is, what your own personal desires are, what you had for breakfast this morning, etc.
But yeah, if you're using DF you are going to put in a group with random people. That's your choice so, if you're making that choice, you should try to work together with the people you are grouped with. And yes, this means players of all stripes may need to play either above or below what they're comfortable with. Just remember that the game doesn't put any goalposts on DF other than clearing the content so, regardless of what you think the meta is, anything beyond that is player created and shouldn't be applied to everyone who plays the game.

Actually it does. You don't queue up straight from PF. You make a party on PF and then you queue through DF.

Funny how someone always is immediately willing to banish "super meta fast" people to PF though, even though "you get what you get in DF" (which includes people wanting to go "super meta fast")

Yes it is truly amazing given in 99 percent of the duties i run the only thing people say are Hi (and that's not a given for everyone) and thank you for the party but we all know some can read minds and know what everyone wants. I will admit that on some occassions the tank asks the healer if large pulls are ok but that doesn't happen very often. I've never seen in all my years playing this game a party vote on what the pull size should be in any duty I've run.

My response might be pretty basic or bland but here it is... I main a Dark Knight and second main a Bard so I can kinda get where both sides might be coming from. Now, I don't like to force playstyles but this is my opinion.

If it is a story dungeon, then by all means... Feel free to take your time if your new to it. Enjoy the content.
If it is a non story dungeon, and you have ran the content before. I would appreciate faster pulls (though I wont complain if you don't) Bard can be boring on small pulls.

Now, if your unfamiliar with the dungeon and now sure how far to take your pulls. Just say "Im new to this dungeon, Ill try large pulls but we are probably gonna die". Everyone else will appreciate the attempt. (unless the healer is not up for it, always check with them before a run).

Finally, and I think this might be the most important thing... If you are asked to speed up or to adjust your playstyle, please avoid be rebellious just to spite the group or start any arguments. Just say "Can do" and move on. Everyone will leave the dungeon a happy camper this way and not spend the rest of the day POed.

Agreed.

Except for the fact that on a group game, everyone making a similar effort > one player riding on the others efforts.

But I forgot some people still think this a single player game and the other 3 players are just bots.
