But you can already spend real money to get rich in game.
Just buy dye pots from the Mogstation and sell them on the marketboard.
Terrible suggestion.

I acknowledge that this idea isn't going to get off the ground but I still love this idea. I don't think ideas should get thrown out because people can barely afford their subs. Considering in game housing wouldn't go away, this idea isn't saying Premium as the ONLY option, just an additional source of housing for those with the means to enjoy them.
This might sound harsh, but poor people playing a game with their discretionary money and barely being able to hang on isn't SEs problem.
That's life and it's no ones job to care about your financials. This is a product and some of us want to have enhanced features and are willing to pay for them. 12-15 dollars a month is not a lot of money for the base game and content we get.
Also if premium houses are good enough, it would free up normal slots so those that can't pay can get a house.
Until they figure out what to do, all housing options should be kept on the table.
That being said, I can feel the outrage of poor people being mad, so I get that this idea isn't likely to happen.
I just would personally do it, if given the option. SE would def get backlash just on principle of people not feeling special enough. "How dare you remind me that I can barely afford my sub"... etc. etc...
You're greatly mistaken if you think only poor people would be outraged by SE introducing additional paid content for a game that already requires us to pay for the base game, expansions and a sub. Every player is already throwing a lot of money at SE, and that's without taking their very successful cash shop and extra retainers into consideration.
I could afford the fees OP suggests but I strongly disagree with them on principal. FFXIV is far from being a free to play game so I firmly am against bringing in playable content in such a way that is expected from a free to play game. This happening would set a troubling precedent that companies who aren't providing a free to play experience could use free to play practices to massively exploit their customer base.
It is if the fees drive away too many players whether out of being unable to afford to play or not wanting to pay what they feel is too high a price for what they're getting. Getting enough money from your customers without making them feel that the fees cost too much is a delicate balance.
I want an instance where i can build something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBDpqn8JLWw.
Or this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2GR...index=100&t=0s
it's mostly blocks and walls. Conan exile private servers cost like $11 a month for just one dedicated large map, so a small instanced map shouldn't cost too much. Make it an addition to the companion app. Get the $5 companion app, and get your own dedicated instance to be able to build your own village. Provide better ai for your retainers they can act like followers from Skyrim. (Give people more reason to get them) Pay more money get a larger instance. Or pay more money and get multiple instances.
If I am going to pay an extra $10 a month, I want an entire ward (with all 30 houses), not just a large.

This exact mentality is what leads to things like Valorant's $300 weapon skin. While I'm okay with micro-transactions to an extent, they should never be the solution to fixing a problem. You're essentially telling SE "don't actually invest money to fix housing. We'll pay you instead!" They'll keep that in mind when another problem arises. And once a company's gone down that rabbit hole. Good luck convincing them to stop.If you don't make the "big bucks", then you don't need to add money to pay to your subscription. But, for some of us that amount of money is nothing and it would benefit both players who can pay and SE in terms of increasing their revenue.
I mean ideally, I want them to fix the housing so people aren't using bots to camp placards on the servers, but after all these years I doubt that will ever happen. I see them more likely embracing something akin to this idea because it'll make them more money, and as we all know SE is a business first.
But if we were going to pay for housing. I'd expect a vastly superior system than what FFXIV offers. Some examples being able to reconstruct the whole layouts, have entirely free reign where things can be placed (i.e., no glitching required) and much larger item space all come to mind. Basically, if SE decided to charge for housing. I don't want to hear a single peep over restrictions like the Glamour Dresser, Company Workships and etc.

Oh, you misunderstand. The money isn't the issue. By principle, I would not pay extra for something that already included in base sub.I acknowledge that this idea isn't going to get off the ground but I still love this idea.
