At the end of the day all I can say is if u play a video game to try and pursue sexual thrills then u got problems sir or maam.

I guess why we're at it I feel like saying this, love cannot be found through empty sex, love takes time and dedication between 2 people who are committed to one another and want to share the rest of thier lives together, if u think tender, random hook ups or going clubbing looking to get laid is gonna fullfill u then u are in for a disappointment.

You'll not find happiness in a woman's panties or some dude's flash talk to get u in bed, trust in God to send u a mate and when u get your mate then u and that person take time to get to know each other and become a unifed married couple.

Lol as if people are literally logging onto this game to find "true love". LOL that's the most silly shit I've ever heard. Ya'know sex can be 100% physical to people without the need for actual love to be present? Some people simply like to "do the nasty" for shits and giggles.

To be fair you'll get someone here saying they found their SO through an online game. That they found "true love". People actually do log into this game for it, funnily enough. You'd be surprised how many people actually do treat FFXIV as a dating sim, and it's not even unique to this game either, you can find them in ESO, WoW or other MMOs as well. Lonely people.

People go to these "lewd" PF events and what not for various reasons; but to judge people for it is just sad. Let players do what they want, without other players policing others on how to play the game how they see fit.
Like I said above, I found my wife via online ERP; who knows. One thing for sure that I am aware of, is that playing FFXIV is an escape for me, especially during these times with COVID.

In a perfect world PF would be used to find a party, rather than find a brothel. Heck, anything that isn't for forming a party for in-game content should be banned, this includes general advertisements.

Yoshi P was once asked by a cringy journalist about ERP in FFXIV, and I’m pretty sure he answered it with it being against TOS.

Also, there’s currently a scandal unfolding in reddit about a FC leader that was apparently grooming minors for ERP, so there’s that too.

Unfortunately, sex is...well a thing that a very large population of people participate in, and is a true social atmosphere (such as brothels, clubs, etc you may be able to find). When I attend these said events, most of the time they are not as "erotic and lucrative" as one believes the may be, either. Most RP is occurring via /telling as well. The only "in your face" stuff there is is typically just the PF stuff, but one can easily just...idk...ignore those? Sure, you see that *gasp* it's happening on your server, but how much does it really affect you people? I'm lost...like are players coming up to you and screaming at you to ERP? If so, man I need to see this for myself to get a good laugh or something.

I mean, unless I'm just a dick. I just literally don't see an issue with players simply trying to find other like-minded players to have fun with. A lot of players like to write, and roleplay, and mingled in there, seems to also simply like sex...so why not lump them in all together.

I mean, PF can be used for other things too, others players haven't gotten creative with using PF other than for intended purposes, and seemingly smut.

I ain’t got anything really against it, sex work is perfectly legal in my country. But they don’t advertise it on public spaces for everyone to see, and selling those services for irl money In FF14 IS breaking TOS.

Also, I’m completely fine if it’s DMs between two Consenting ADULTS. Online, there’s no telling how old the people on the other end are.

Overall, I find it pretty cringe. And as a women, I think other women are being a little predatory towards lonely dudes. The dudes get hooked with this kind of thing, the women lead them on for their money, and the dudes end up chasing a delusion that will never come true.

They’re free to do that kind of thing, doesn’t mean I can’t voice my disapproval of it, though.
