Regarding Firmament Titles For 5.3

They actually use that system to judge popularity of something.

Perhaps reading through the Japanese concerns if you are able (it's mostly asking for clarification over anything) and liking that too, since we all know how much more they listen to JP players...

I wish they had done something like:

Top 12 for every category get a Saint title
Top 100 for each DoH/DoL gets a title specific for that job
Titles don't change between seasons
You can only place for each title once

That way people can still do each season if they want to work on a different craft's title (collecting all the unique DoH/DoL titles with the much more generous top 100 caps), and the top 12 wouldn't be competed for by the same people each season so everyone has a decent shot at it eventually.

I believe they can still do this too; if they make the previous Beatus/Beata a title for placing top 100 for *any* craft during a ranking period and add the DoH/DoL titles, and leave Saint alone.

I was lucky enough to not have work and to be recovering from a major back surgery during the first event. So I had plenty of time in order to participate. With that being said, my boyfriend and I literally made ourselves SICK, staying up late, constantly fishing, it was a constant grind. We weren't eating right, sleeping right, getting up and stretching enough: All in the name of competition. My boyfriend and I ended up getting angry at one another, it was a mess. I finally broke down and said: "I don't care about this stupid title anymore. It's not worth this. It's not worth us being upset at one another." And I hung up my fishing pole.

Luckily enough, even though we both had quit the last 2 days of the contest: We still placed top twelve. (BARELY.)

It is NOT worth making people do this to themselves. It's just not. And those who are planning on doing that to themselves yet again deserve a chance at the title. If you participated in the last contest and you were awarded the Saint of the Firmament Title, you should NOT be able to participate again on your ACCOUNT. (That's right, the entire account.)

Those who have jobs, those who don't have as much time, those who don't want to literally make themselves SICK from staying up so late should have a REAL CHANCE to participate and to be rewarded for their work.

Saints of the Firmament should be BARRED from participating in this event. That includes me (Who has multiple omni-gatherers) And those like me.

Absolutely agreed. I already have the title. I shouldn't be eligible to participate this time. Point blank. And in regards to the bots? We pointed it out last time. We pointed out the program: The GMs didn't even look into it. They need to absolutely check out everyone in the top 12 this time.

I was actually looking forward to attempting to get a title this time but if they go through with making them all unique titles, I may as well not bother, I cannot devote the amount of time and effort needed to maintain a high enough placement if the same people who already got one can do so again and again.

Even if you change the titles to reflect which contest was won: If we placed in the top 12 the first time, we should NOT be able to participate in future Ishgardian Restoration events. I say this AS a Saint of the Firmament: It is NOT fair to everyone else who would like to try again, or try for the first time. I think the unique titles per event are neat! But I should not be able to compete again. That's just not right. Please, I literally beg of you Yoshi: Do not let those with the Saint of the Firmament title participate. Thank you.

Another Saint, here. Made 4th Miner on Ultros during the first season and it was

absolutely.

horrible. Not a fun experience just to maintain a spot on the board, I admit, its on me, I fell for the clout factor of being among the first people with the title but that was with the understanding that the achievement and title would still be the same in the following seasons and I wouldn't have to go through that hell again.

I'm fiercely against the idea of having new achievements and titles this time around, because, well,
1. we were told it would be the same title, a one and done thing. Its shitty for people who gave up on the grind last season thinking 'oh well i'll get it next time around.'

2. Bot issues, plenty addressed in the thread already.

3. Honestly, I think most legit-Saints of the Firmaments can agree that it was not an enjoyable grind and we were all grateful it was over when we got it done.
