Pretty pumped about GL being moved to a trait as I think it safe to say we're all a big fan of the high speed of GL4. Now it's fun to imagine where we can go with chakras now and into the future.

I really hope (and I'm confident it will be) that this is something they look into. Chakras feel like something they were beta testing in Heavensward before rolling out to other jobs in Stormblood in the form of all the gauges (ninki, kenki, beast gague, oath gage, etc) But when it came time to move monk over to this new system, rather than letting the monk accumulate more resource than it needed to execute a skill like every other job in the game, monk still is tied to being forced to use Forbidden Chakra/Enlightenment IMMEDIATELY or risk overcapping. It breaks my heart to see that little gold ball float toward me too when I just hit 5 stacks and am using the skill but still lose that chakra during times when Brotherhood is up
I see no reason why the potential can't finally be fully explored and expanded on now that Monks won't be split between two resource systems that both have to work. I wouldn't say it certain that we eventually get a light chakra/shadow chakra system but the room is there to grow. I can think of many ideas that fit well in both the established lore and the Hinduism themes it leans into. I'm all for a hypothetical where we use our accumulated chakras to go full Hindu deity, sprout six ghost arms out of our back and go Star Platinum on people.I really hope (and I'm confident it will be) that this is something they look into. I don't know what the point of this post is. You're here at the end of the ride, the day after the lead developer agreed with one of the biggest points contained in this thread before committing to shakeup in the next major patch.

Just upping the cap to 7 chakras instead of 5 would both bring the concept more in line with Hindu philosophy as well as solve the problem of overcapping. At least that's my thinking.I see no reason why the potential can't finally be fully explored and expanded on now that Monks won't be split between two resource systems that both have to work.
