Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

I don't get just why they did hrotgar males the way they did. They took the most unpopular race in the game, added new textures and head, edited their animations and expected them to be popular.

You do realize that's exactly the same for female Elezen/Viera, right? I'm not gonna defend Hrothgar as perfect, they could've definitely been done better, but to say they're a lousy race choice, and lousily done, while Viera are all good and dandy is a flat out lie.

Both races are extremely popular from what i see. Obviously Viera are more but that was to be expected. Even with the current limitations they are still used by many. Relative to the missing genders I think those will never see the light of day given we haven't even been able to get hair/helm additions and the xpac is already half done.

One has to wonder if we'll get to see any additions/modifications to the new races with 5.3. Given the patch and expected xpac will be late I don't think that bodes well for any new race additions even if they had been contemplated.

I'm not opposed to the addition of the missing genders I love racial variety in this game but nothing points to their being able to even deal with the current additions.

Hrothgar probably have more custom work done for their models than viera, for their heads most definitely. That's why they don't have hair options.

No, they stated in an interview they specifically didn't give them hairtsyle because of specific design reasons

It goes more to show that they are in fact the last racial additions for this game which they said they would be and is certainly not because they are holding the female Viera and male Hrothgar back for 6.0 as a selling point.

Adding the missing gneders isnt adding new races, it's finishing them from my point of view
Also, I would think there's a reason that they have been delivering less content, possibly to make room for player models/ male viera and fem hrotgar/ customization options

Your point of view doesn’t necessarily equal reality and the people who model races and gear aren’t necessarily the same as the ones making dungeons. You can conjecture until the cows come home but it’s not going to change the fact of the situation that this isn’t being done without additional resources and will be a major undertaking both for now and the future of the game.

Working or finishing work on races, be it adding new ones, or adding another gender is indeed work. But it's considered within the work they do for expacs. Saying it takes resources from other stuff doesn't make sense since that work is already considered when organizing all future work. It's definitely not a last minute afterthought.
