I really don't see how the dev team has enough time or people to add the missing genders. I don't know what's to blame for their struggle; could be FFVII remake?

But what's obvious is that making new hair styles even for the "normal" races is also a struggle for them now. Not to mention DNC/GNB weapons, and we're now getting less dungeons than last expansion.

Them adding Hrothgar to lure Elder Scrolls players was their gamble, after that they're just going into sleep mode with the next expansion in my opinion. Next expansion is basically like Stormblood, barebones; the only selling point being MSQ and 2 new jobs. The rest is the predictable hamster wheel; dungeons, new 24 man raids, new 8 man raids.

Stormblood had 2 very strong jobs going for it at least; samurai and rdm, very iconic pull. While chemist is liked, it's not a classic like Samurai and Red mage. Next expansion I predict the exodus of FFXIV players to WoW with their new expansion, or just to ps5 and the many single player/online games it offers.

I don't really fault the XIV devs, Square Enix just needs to complete FFVII remake no matter the cost. And the cost of that means taking some of XIV's best 2D and 3D artists, as well as some of their best operations staff.

With all those points laid out, how do you see the missing genders making it in the next expansion? I've completely given up and am ready to jump ship to ps5 with Demon's Souls and spend 1000 hours playing that and other ps5 titles. Do I like XIV? Yeah, am I ready to be disappointed at the fanfests? You bet haha, the signs are not good my friend.
Sadly MMOs have just been cash cows for other projects since the dawn of the genre. Most of the money XIV makes doesn't get put back into XIV.
