Yeah, people talking about wasting dev time and resources on making wedding dress fit male bodies, but then want a feature like this that would waste more dev time and resources. My opinion on this remains the same. Do I really care if it's implemented at the end of the day? Probably not. I just feel that it is an unnecessary waste of dev time and resources when the solution is as simple as "don't look at it" or "don't pay attention to it". People CHOOSE to look at something, and they also choose to focus on it. They could choose to...not, if they wished but they don't. It's simpler in their mind to program it out of their sight.![]()

You're free to think so. Personally, I just don't find that particular aesthetic to be interesting. I think skimpy glamour in general is overused when it comes to FFXIV. An option to hide such things isn't a necessity but it'd simply be nice to have the option.
Yup, this exactly.
I get annoyed by seeing people basically run around naked while calling themselves tanks, but you know what I do about it? Go "eh" and continue what I was doing. It's not that hard to just be mature about it. People are different. Weird. What's that all about.
Ignorance and prejudice are born of not understanding and refusing to understand. Do I think those people are bad for wearing only underwear all the time? No. Are they doing it to hurt me? Nope. They're just existing there, even if I don't like it. And if seeing someone in an outfit enrages you so much that you need the devs to assist you in maintaining your sanity because you can't keep yourself in check, maybe see a therapist. Because that's not a game problem, my dude.
Eh, not necessarily. I'm more a fan of the 'live and let live' approach. It's just a difference in taste when it comes to aesthetics, so it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to have a toggle to hide such things on an individual player's screen. Almost everybody in support of the idea throughout this thread is arguing from the perspective that it would be nice to have but isn't a necessity...whereas a lot of the people arguing against the idea are acting like it is the worst thing in the world and a deeply personal attack upon their person. Or throwing weighty terms around like 'prejudice' when we're dealing with pixels on a screen.
People who have biases such as that cannot be helped, they have to come to their senses on their own accord. Any amount of "help" would be seen as antagonizing and further their bias.

Not that I'm for hiding others glams, but what I'd like to know is which part of their team would they need to reassign to this task?
That would give us some kind of indication of what we might be giving up in exchange for hiding others glams.
Most likely the U.I department so things like Bard Performance, indicator changes, Trust A.I etc so things that could be potentially put on hold if they are working on (big stinking IF) like dnc performance, MSQ roulette revamp, Eureka tweaks etc, but who knows a dev could be working on it in their spare time, they've surprised us before.
However they still need Yoshi P's approval to put it into the game, his opinion is the one this thread needs to change for it to get added and based on past stuff he tends to stick to his guns hard nowadays(Blue not working in traditional sense for FFXIV, Male Viera looking Weird so do a different male equivalent if do female Viera etc etc) as I do not see someone who was shocked when a woman covered their child's eyes from seeing a cross dressed male going to school, approving this features addition.
So I wish those for the thread good luck but I don't see it happening.
