You clearly have no clue whatsoever as to how game development works, and I don't feel like educating you, so I will just summarize by saying that deleting old content will not help the developers at all with creating new content.
Everyone calling this a troll thread, yet this is exactly what Bungie are doing with Destiny 2. Luke Smith has said that removing old content will let them create more new and better content. Don't think a lot of people here really understand programming, and how whenever adding something new to the game, it could cause issues in content way back down the line, which they then have to spend time to fix.

Everytime an update is released in D2, many bugs find their way back in, and then the devs are having to waste time fixing them. The example they gave was that they had to spend time fixing bugs that had appeared in content that less than 0.5% of players had touched in the last 3 months. The more content that you add to games, the more scope there is for things to go wrong upon adding even more.

Yeah, but destiny 2 is even more of a mess imo because of that. Like, I went to go back to the game recently, and it was just a mess with stuff being all over the place and changed so much. You start a new character and it just throws you in randomly without giving you any ability to go through the intro. Immediately turned me off from it.
