Whoa you took my statement both the wrong way and way too personally. I meant no disrespect/ill will/sarcasm or whatever you think I was conveying with that statement. As far as I know, I'm allowed to worry whenever I feel like it.
Microtransactions are a huge thing in today's gaming market, so it's only natural to be cautious. Furthermore, that good ol' "it's just cosmetics" argument hasn't been a proper argument for ages because, to mirror someone who posted before me, if all the cool-looking stuff ended up in the cash shop, it'd be just as bad as having the strongest gear in there, for there are probably just as many glamour-focused people in the game as there are stats-focused people.
It's all a matter of perspective.
Let me say this a different way, there is cause for worry if gear starts showing up there, not glam gear either, like buying current stuff. If you've never played a full p2p game believe me, it's not a good thing.
Edit: Clearly you have but I stick by my statement still. It's all good so long as they don't go the pay to win route. I've come from 2 MMO that was pretty bad with P2P and they are both dead now.

It's a bit unpolished, but in general I like new website. Opening pages in new window and wishlist still would be nice to have though. And I'm a bit confused by the amount of times you need to log in when actually buy stuff, and wonder if it was intended this way or it's a bug that will be fixed later.

Ah, alright. These forums are so full of sarcastic snarky mcsnarkfaces that at some point you start seeing everyone and everything in that light. My apologies, and no offense taken.
I've indeed played fully pay-to-win games before (Kingdom Hearts Union Cross, dear lord the gacha was so bad) and yeah, I agree that having the best gear up there for sale in the cash shop would indeed be very, very bad. No disagreement there.
What I meant to display with my statement was that despite what the game industry has been trying to push for the past decade or so, having "only" all the best cosmetics in there would be just as bad for the playerbase as having the best gear. Strong gear is coveted by people for its value in combat. An amazing glamour item is coveted by people for its value in looking cool/hot/whatever. If the amount of people in the game who wish to look cool equals or trumps the amount of people who wish to beat the hardest battle content, then the perceived value of cosmetics equals or trumps the perceived value of battle gear.
It's all subjective to what the playerbase considers desirable. And we all know the glam game is very strong in FFXIV.
No reward is worth suffering through content you feel is bad. The worst thing the playerbase can do to itself is force-complete the content it hates. It leaves the false impression that despite complaints, players are generally satisfied with the content and it's okay to make more like it. If players stop working on the content even with rewards incomplete (like Pagos when it first came out), it will send a clear sign that changes need to be made.

Honestly not sure what to make of it, what I do know is having to log in three times just to complete one transaction was more than a little annoying. Might be viewable as a security measure of sorts, but I have my doubts about that. This is still early days and with all that's going on in the world; I'm not surprised things aren't ideal, it's just perplexing and frustrating is all.
Hopefully the issues get ironed out a bit for customers in the future; the why of it all is just elusive. Gonna just wait and see for the time being.
Also no opinion on the look of the thing; care more about functionality. It's not the worst at least.

I like that I can use the backbutton now and link to specific items.
The new design is neater.
However, I'd like it to show the EU prices in euros, not in sterling pounds. If there is a way to change this that I am not aware of, please let me know![]()
Has a cart, all I care about.

I've been gone since April, figured it was a good time to take a little break. Came back to the game the other night and saw they redesigned the store. I thought "Nice! It took them long enough!". My opinions are as follows...
1. The design- Great. Seriously, it looks wonderful and browsing is so much more smooth.
2. Having a cart that functions fully like a cart is also a good thing.
And so, I come to #3...
3. Who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to make us log in multiple times just to purchase something? Seriously, why? It was...more than just a small annoyance. If anything, it makes me want to use their store less.
(Unrelated, but it also took me 2 days to finally log into the forums because my 4-5 logins to the game itself couldn't be read on their end or something?)

I don't like the "See More" button, they could just as easily show me the entire selection or put down some Page Number Hyperlinks.
