    Tricky. Depends on the set, since they tend to follow a theme for the entire raid set. Some sets are designed to amplify the theme of the raid they are gotten in. While some sets are more aimed to fit the idea of the traditional roles. ie Eden is the classic role, but previous sets put everyone in chain mail, or cloth, or dressed them in Native costumes. The 5.0+ sets when looking at them seem universally classic roles... The tank is clearly Paladin, The healer is clearly White mage, etc.

    This sounds accurate, yeah. Some jobs are closer to the archetype of their respective roles (Paladin, White Mage, Black Mage off the top of my head for their three roles, Melee is a mishmash, not sure on Ranged DPS) so it makes sense that they might be closer to the generic gear they put out.

    I've noticed most range gear wasn't meant for MCH. Even the military soldier gear clips with the Aetherotransformer so clearly they didn't have that giant box in mind when designing it. M'naago wears the set and she's using a bow.

    I still think they should remove or at least add the option to remove the Aetherotransformer. It's weird that only one job has this extra thing attached to their weapons that always the same model for every different weapon. Like if I want to glam a pirate outfit complete with one of the more flintlock guns, I still have this technological monstrosity hanging off my hip.

    Honestly I would rather they make the transformer an off-hand even if its limited to the same number of specimens as BLU canes, plus it can open up the possibility of "The Emporer's New Aetherotransformer" as well.

    I was commenting just the other day that I would love it if they let you equip Red Mage rapiers into your off hand. It’d give no stats, but would change your little floaty thing to use the appearance of the off hand’s little floaty thing.
