To me it reads as giving you an effect that lasts for 12s, and that effect is "if your MP is 80% or more, your spells do 50% extra damage".

    It should read:

Additional Effect: If current MP is at 80% or higher, grants the 'Requiescat' effect. Increases attack magic and healing magic potency by 50%, and allows spells to be cast immediately. Duration: 12s
I mean if you actually bothered to play it and used common sense, if you're instacasts don't disappear after your mana drops below 80% then why would the damage buff disappear. and the fact that in SB, PLDs spammed HS x5 in it's rotation which also had a damage/ healing buff under req for the full duration, dunno why all of a sudden it would disappear after mana dropped below 80%, not everything needs to be handed out on a platter, because people can't use their heads.

I don't see why tool tips should be purposefully misleading until you use the skill to find out for yourself.
That would seem to me like you're saying tool tips are useless and we should all work it out purely by playing it instead of utilising an informative resources the devs provide us with.

Why is it that you're emotionally invested in this specific tool tip that you have to lash out at anyone who suggests a better, clearer option?

On the contrary, by 68-80 levels I think you should have managed to develop some sort of basic common sense to understand how the skill works within that time frame.

The most worthwhile way to learn is by doing, so it's not emotionally driven that I argue against your point, but rather from an expectation that people should actually try to figure out for themselves a degree before looking for help, and I already consider the tooltip extremely clear already.

Is there any downside to more accurate tool tips?
I'm just trying to work out where this defensive attitude is coming from.

This is a personal thing. If an effect will be ended early for whatever reason, SE tooltips go out of their way to state as much. See the Army's Muse buff BRD gets after Army's Paeon ends. Plenty of people read that tooltip and understand exactly what it means, and any confusion can easily be dispelled with a few GCD's of trying it out on a target dummy.
