In accordance with what change? You've only quoted half the information and haven't provided a link.
Was it an update to what it does or how it is described? I'm pretty sure we have visor gear from earlier than 3.3.
Mmmhhh that's funny. When we had 3.3, I discovered this possibility and assumed it was used before to show/hide the headgear and the change in description refered to that. The more I search, the more I learn it was already there.

Current text is:
USAGE:
/visor
→Open/close helm visor. This function can also be used to toggle on/off helms that light up.
No idea what /visor did before.
Well, hum, it means one thing for sure: THEY CAN DO IT!![]()

Unfortunately they can only do it if they have somewhere to store the information that you switched it on or off, and probably more information attached to the gear model, and that probably comes right back to the same issue of why we never get any updates to character creation.
If they increase the data required per item, I see the difficulty, but why not then "simply" do two items?Unfortunately they can only do it if they have somewhere to store the information that you switched it on or off, and probably more information attached to the gear model, and that probably comes right back to the same issue of why we never get any updates to character creation.
"name-item_version.a" and "name-item_version.b" would share most of their data files... like, I also guess, many item that resemble previous ones.
Data-wise, we would use one item or the other, as simple as using Pagos Shirt or Thavnairian Bolero.
I really don't see how hard it is.
It would "only" require to create the button that looks if the item is a version-something-named item and then call for the other one.
Can't it be that simple?

They intentionally took belt items out of the game visually in order to add them all to the chest pieces.
This was a conscious, direct decision when transitioning from 1.0 to 2.0. It would be nice to have them back, but I don't think they will.
And without waist items being visible I cannot see them going ahead and adding a visual toggle. Heck even if they did they'd probably just make you use an Emperors New Belt instead.

The Anemos top, which is a near-perfect “Commando / SAS Sweater” and then they add that horrible huge banana knife or coconut chopper or whatever it is... my kingdom for a knife-less version...

I remember seeing this set and thinking that the vest would be so cool for monk... then I found out that the dress is part of the chest piece. I would love to be able to toggle things like this off.
