That's certainly possible as well. The only thing militating against it, IMO, is that her summoners sacrificed themselves to bring her about, at least on the NA version of the dialogue with Hythlodaeus, and would be sundered along with everyone else in any case even if they were not. But who knows, maybe she identified and revived them.

The reason I thought the description is consistent with the Convocation is to do with how the First Umbral Calamity and the First Umbral era are described here, with the "gods" basically vanishing at this point. Especially since they were initially reduced to 13 due to the departure of the 14th (at least until they filled the office), and then again to 12 with Elidibus forming Zodiark's "heart", and possibly going on a recruiting scheme to gradually fill their ranks (in line with the gods gradually emerging), thus being absent on the Source. There is also some overlap between Emet-Selch's traits and those of Nald'thal. Much of what we now know of the Twelve seems to be the product of myths which arose over time, and of course this faith also enabled Louisoix to almost draw on their power through a near summoning of them as Primals.

Zenos is probably much more than a fallen prince with an artificial echo and his character will severely change the more he pursues his Final Days dream. If we don't kill him for good, he will probably become an antihero. Probably something like Gaius.

I think Gaia was introduced partially because leaving the First means Ryne stays alone, as the scions used to be her only friends. With Gaia present at her side, we can leave the First and Ryne will still have someone to aid her with fixing the realm and whatnot. I believe SE wouldn't kill Ryne, a major character of the MSQ, in a side storyline and those two coming to the Source seem unlikely (at least at the moment), they need to work on the balance in the First. Though I can see Gaia becoming relevant in the MSQ if we decide to tackle the thirteenth shard situation, which seems likely.

Ima share some of my predictions for the upcoming patches, copypasted from a r/ffxiv thread on 6.0 (the sub doesn't fulfill my loretalk needs):
- Ivalice raids and the recent relic weapon quests fed us with a little bit more information about some of the provinces and I think we will hear of them more, possibly even visit those lands in 6.0.
- Mikoto appeared in both of them and I think she will become a more significant character in the upcoming patches, especially considering her unique echo abilities.
- Estinien and Source G'raha will join us as semi-scions. Other characters that will get some more presence are obviously the few Garleboys we're friends with, so Nero, Maxima and Cid. Lucia seems like a stretch but this would almost certainly mean that Aymeric is reappearing as a more significant character and I Still Have Hope For This. Gaius will get a redemption arc for sure, he doesn't seem eager to become an actual leader but there's definitely a chance.
- This looks like too many characters in the spotlight so we will lose someone from the old crew, even if only temporarily (like most of the scions during HW).
- Asahi is apparently a thing. Sigh.
- We already got an expansion based on ,,1. befriend the people. 2. liberate the country. 3. repeat.'' so I suppose this will be a change from the inside, which means more politics while we try to deal with, you know, another apocalypse.

I think Gaia will pull a sac play and end up using her powers of time manipulation to speed up the healing of the Empty.

If the Exarch was only trying to call the WoL over to the First, who is the we that needs to pass? I suspect Ryne will stay behind on the First until the final patch of the expansion, where we will be saved or reinforced by a older, more experienced Ryne (who our characters would mistake for being Minfilia until the realization hit us) and a few other NPC's who we helped during our journeys in the First after time between the Source and the First has unsynced.

Well Yoshi-P just announced that the storyline for Hydaelyn/WoL and Zodiark/Ascian Arc will finally be finished BUT there will be a new storyline after so we are at the literal official finale of this long Season 1 storyline now.

I am honestly glad the Season 1 storyline is finally ending because it has gotten very old that basically every single bad thing in the plot has been "the Ascians are behind everything" since 2.0 storyline.

The questions I have is more on how will they handle Season 2 storyline now that it is entering unknown territory as it will be a new beginning and how will that story begin because it will certainly depend greatly on how Season 1 ends.

Season 2 can begin as WoL being a legend where people don't recognize WoL but we get mention once in a while by people talking about it since we know from certain Job quests (such as gunbreaker job quest where the our allies don't recognize WoL until the end of 70 Quests) and MSQ that most people have heard about the Legend of WoL but they do not fully recognize him/her due to only having the stories providing them information about WoL which can be greatly exaggerate in both events and appearances.

Season 2 begins on a clean slate due to events of Season 1 ending requiring a certain sacrifice to guarantee our victory but we manage to survive in the end thus leading to the events that will begin our journey in Season 2.

1) We will probably learn another bit about the 14th Defector, maybe as to why they did not side with either sides. Maybe we will learn that they opposed both. We might also learn the position they had(warrior of protector?) and maybe learn that they did not side with anyone to go out and find the source of the sound. Ultima like alien, perhaps?

2) Elibibi is probably trying to turn his new Warriors of Light against us in moment of zealot fever. Will it work? No. But I foubt that his goal is to defeat us as he knows that it won't work. He is trying to delay us. This might result in some Scions being in danger.

3) For one reason or another(maybe because of Elibibi) Tia is going to die. But we will get young Tia on our side in exchange.

4) Civil War is raging on to the point where it seems like Garlean Empire is about to break in two. Hints of Eorzean alliance pushing into Ilsebard to finish Garleans once and for all? With Raubahn and Hien pushing for it especially?

5) Zenos keeps learning things. We possibly learn whose reflection he is and we learn who that person with him is. Zenos possibly learns of WoL and is eager to rejoin us remaining times and maybe himself.
