Aside from a few gimmicks, healers feel virtually the same. It's not a good thing.
The Aurum Vale is basically the only fun four person dungeon. And, It's either AST, half-hearted performances, or total boredom. But, like going even a little bit Hardcore at max level is stressful in the conflict between the needs of the buffing system and healing (especially lightspeed), exhausting, and at least twice it left me with pain from the right elbow to the wrist. This is literally easier if the buffing is just back-seated entirely, which is the aspect of AST that can be pushed the most, which is also just really minuscule at max. The mobility, short cast timers, and aesthetics are totally amazing. And, just being busier is definitely a plus
They really need to just stop hollowing-out all of the early level hlr builds though, imo

They're pretty bland at the moment. My main healer has been Astrologian since it was released (it was WHM before then), and Astro was just...so much more fun before, it's kind of depressing. I get why the changes were made to it, but the cards are so boring now compared to how they used to be.
I picked up WHM again on an alt, and it feels like easymode to me. I have not really muddled enough with SCH to give any good opinions about it either way.

And this is coming from someone who has mained healer since 2.0 through all the ups, downs and changes. Not anymore. SE clearly has no idea what to do with healers at the moment. I have utterly lost faith in them and healer design.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

The fairy being the worst of all changes, but bane is now too? :< My condolences to all SCH mains.
Schoolar is in the worst place right now as he is just the weakest and fairies are unresponsive asf.
Heals are about 2 times weaker than those of whitemage, and sch has less mp on top of that. Fairies takes several seconds to give buffs or apply regen. Schoolar aoe damaging spell makes absolutely no sense at all. The more i play it the more i hate it, the randomness of fairy and the fact that it has way weaker heals and lower MP regen utility.
Just big one oof, idk who was responsible for healers balance, but even a blind kid could have done it better, and to think they buffed healers and 5.0 patch was even worse than that.
And the best part about healers is that SE simply doesnt give a F about them, its been 1 year after expansion and no changes were made to the gameplay whatsoever.

I rarely see Scholars cast any GCD heals at endgame dungeons. Art of War all the way.
Healer balance is very, very good right now.
AST + SCH has a slight lead, but AST + WHM is so close it's very, very viable.
Now, you can say the gameplay/'fun' factor is lacking and I can agree, and some QoL changes could help.
But the balance is not really a problem. AST is the strongest healer by far so you could argue for a bit of a nerf, but right now all 3 healers can be used pretty equally as long as one of them is AST. Granted it's not ideal to have one healer be required, but it's about time the required healer isn't SCH for a change, and as long as all of them are desirable - I call that pretty good.
Unfortunately you can't buff WHM or SCH because if SE did that, one of the top two combos would become drastically better and become the 'required' raid composition. There's room for QoL changes, but nothing that would directly increase their potencies, etc.

WHM is fun IMO.
AST is ok, but can be alot better
SCH is straight trash. I cant believe the changes.
