I'm beginning to associate the sight of class icons in Haukke Manor and later content with abject despair. A Gladiator somehow managed to make it to level 40 and know to properly manage their gear and yet not know what Iron Will was until just before the first boss, and not know what Total Eclipse was the entire run, and utterly refused to listen when informed on where to go after the Jester/Servant fight. I... just... goddamn.

Aggro Wars are always a sight to behold; especially when you can watch the tanks struggling to keep hate against each other. Bonus points when they start yelling at each other in chat.

Had 37 level Black Mage on my Haukke Manor dungeon group. He only spammed Blizzard 1 during the dungeon. Did not read the chat when i tried to explain and help him and in generally was also trying to do the tanks job by pulling mobs and entering areas which aren't on the main path. Must be very fun to level that far with Blizzard 1. Also it was his first time there so he over leveled like 9 levels with some side quests

EDIT: And i think the game should tell every tank to use AOE spam only till late in the game when more than 3 mobs. Makes runs much quicker

My favorite are when one tank has pulled and established hate for a good minute only for the secondary tanks to suddenly get a bee in their bonnet that make them slam the provoke button. Sometimes it's justified if the first tank isn't doing a good job or needs to position the boss better. Yet most of the time the new tank not only just has something to prove, they also refuse to turn the tank properly around. Had an Orbonne yesterday where it was a three way pingpong match between who got to tank Mustadio and only the tank who initially pulled was actually where they needed to be.

A thing I'm noticing now that I'm tanking, in alliance raids is when someone else wants to MT, so ok you'll have it. I attack later enough for them to establish aggro first (anyway usually the ones who want MT SO badly run like crazy before the alliance), keep the dps casual, if I see the yellow is going red is start shirking...and I still get aggro. Why even want so badly to be MT if you can't even keep aggro?
And ofc even though I try to stay flank instead of back just in case (but it's supposed to be in case the MT dies, not in case I get aggro for no reason) it still screws positionals for everybody for a moment. And as someone who played all the melees I know just how annoying it is.

At least the days of all level tanks being spinny for no reason are gone...*cries in monk*

When I tank in raids, I just don't bother trying to establish my role as MT - someone is gonna toss provoke. It's also getting to a point now where the MT wanna tank the raid boss + adds, like dude, you don't have titanium-like CDs.

I've been able to pull this all off (on AST) a few times, and I honestly can't tell you how I was able to do it. There's a method/strat to all other crap-hitting-fan situations in the game, but that one there is its own special situation.. It's like stars align, and andromeda finally merges with our own galaxy, and all planets and moons(even Saturn's) go into conjunction.

I'll plead guilty to this one... but only because I don't trust the other tanks to actually pick them up. Too many shenanigans with the tank adds on the last boss of Copied Factory...

Can see how the bile can make that rough.

I'm starting to tank now and my frustration is that the ones who want to MT don't want to pull. I usually wait a bit in case another tank wants to MT, but no one runs forward. So I do... and a few GCDs in and some other guy in the back needs to have his epeen stroked by screwing over the dps. And of course, I get yelled at. I'm so done with it tbh. I don't understand the mentality because the provoke rotationers can't even manage to stay alive once they do have it. I'm sure half of it is because their healers are like "Oh ok cool, our tank isn't MT so I don't have to pay attention." And that's not their fault. But the other half is ... how do you get far enough to read what one of your role abilities does but not the entire rest of the others?
