New Treasure Trove Rewards: why Ixion?

Ixion fate is called (pinged) a lot on the hunt discords I belong to on Aether, Crystal and Chaos. Lots of people show for it when I've gone with alts and it dies pretty fast with a pack of 80's hitting on it.

I have never been able to catch the Ixion Fate a second time so I was stuck with half of the tokens needed for the mount for a long time. Happy that there is another way to get this done.

Ixion? Are you for real? All you ahve to do is show up at two, just two fates, two fates under lvl 70, and not even make an effort in them, just hit once. I have very few mounts and even I have that one.
Considering that all other mounts in the event come out of EXes, which actually require some effort, Ixion is the useless reward among them.
If anything I was salty when they gave away like that ARR beast tribe mounts, as those are a crapload of time investement into annoying and boring grind.

Rant: I get it, you think we all want stuff handed to us to want to play the game. So, you have taken a lot of the "challenge" away in the process. Now .. i see you have made it pointless to run hard content for special rewards. I am a bit upset with the Treasure trove this time around. The whole point of some of this stuff is to be a challenge and to be a special thing once you accomplish a goal. But now.. run a few pracs and you got yourself an Ixion. Something that was very hard and time consuming to get and once you did you could puff out your chest and say YEAH I DID THAT! Now .. why bother. I get that you want everyone to have a chance, but when you remove the challenge this game becomes like all the rest.. nothing but a grind.. so.. why bother... Fix the bloat.. yes.. fix the redundancy sure.. but do not give away things that people took so much effort to get and just hand it out to everyone like it was nothing. If you continue to do that, then what is the point of adding new things.. just start giving the harder stuff away and we can all just grind fates to 80 from now on and find another MMO worth sinking our money into.

.....so are you saying you weren't upset with the Falcon Bird Mounts being rewards the past 2-3 times? Or the Horse/Pony Mounts, or the Minions and other Mounts that were up? Most if not all of those took effort to get at one point, why is Ixion the one that got you Upset?
Nothing is being handed to us, we still have to put in the effort to grind the Mog Tomes to get it. Is it Much easier and less time consuming then waiting forever for a Special Unique FATE? Yes, yes it is. Does it Devaule the Mount? HECK No. Frankly I dont care if someone else had an easier time getting something I had to work hard for, because the point is, I got the item. Period. And Im happy I got my Ixion Mount.
Its on the Next Moogle Treasure Trove now? SWEET, now those who weren't lucky enough to participate in the FATE Hype can get it now. AND I can get it for my ALT now.

These events are typically about a month long, after that Ixion will likely become exclusive again to the next wave of New people who start playing or haven't got to Stormblood yet.
FFXIV is already a grind, FFXIV will always have new challenges, how the other guy got his item doesn't bother or effect me at all.
If you don't see the point in trying just because it might become easier to get later by being on Moogle Treasure Trove, welp thats on you.

They have. Ponies drop more then 10% of the time(seriously, i see one every week or two just soloing for khloe). Birbs arent nearly as rare as they were. My last doggo farm had 4 drop in under 20 pulls. The only one ive done recently(no, i havent done all of them recently) that was still super rare was Rathalos(im 10 scales from buying it, not a single drop yet).

Did a full 50 just recently, never saw the mount drop. Lots of Poogies and music rolls though.

I feel like including the tribe mounts doesn't negate the grind entirely though - there are still other exclusive items from the tribe vendors and capstone quests.

(Not saying I object to Ixion, just commenting on that by itself.)

I've appreciated it personally, because it means I can get the mounts for my alts without going through the quests every time.

Where is the loot? I did it a few times with friends and we didn't see any treasure chests. Does it only appear occasionally, or is it hidden somewhere?

Only shows up occasionally, between him and the exit. I’m gonna guestimate I saw maybe ten chests during those fifty runs. Every single one had a Poogie and the music roll you buy with Ex Scales.

Some of these people on this thread are all chill until the items they grinded / value are next on the chopping block to be handed out. I, myself, am concerned about all my blessed tools becoming less appealing / valuable with these relic tools coming out. I feel for you OP

I don't know about other servers, but on Omega whenever it pops it gets called out on NN and plenty of people do it, novices and veterans alike, same with every other such FATE. You just have to pray you get there on time before the crowd attacks it and finishes it in a few CDs.
