I donno if I pissed off the SCH, or the SCH didn't get the memo that I was MTing.. I got only heals from Eos, which was'nt much since she had to take care of other people too.
I died.
SCH thought it was ok to burn mp raising me instead of healing me,
Now SCH has no MP to heal anyone anyway.
Gonna take break from tanking.

Tales from Party Finder time! Joined a farm party for Hades EX, because the whistle only appears when it feels like it, so 5 times so far. Second last run, everyone but myself (OT), and MT died in Phase 2. SCH asks "who missed the meteor". Uh... obviously not neither of us, considering both tanks were alive? If either of us missed a meteor, one of us would have splatted first, not 90% of the party.

Then we go to the last run. Had to tank swap in Laha/Ige phase, which I did, Provoke'd Ige off the MT. MT did not Provoke Laha off me. Laha goes chasing after me. Gives me a face full of fire, and I die. We wipe, everyone leaves. Party disbands. So I join a new farm party. Guess who I see? The other healer from the previous party, a WHM. WHM immediately leaves party upon seeing me join. Probably blamed me for wiping the party, since I died to Laha giving me a Fire IV to death.

So hey, healers, when I play a caster DPS in a dungeon in the middle of a big pull and suddenly the tank loses aggro on like half the mobs to me, I would very much appreciate it if you wouldn't try to yoink me back to a distance with Rescue when I'm trying to run those mobs back to the tank and wait for them to be able to regain aggro.

But i love playing god with the DPS

Was on my smn and we had a tank that did no know their place and the healer put a end to that quickly. They treated rescue as a leash, granted the tank did not like that the entire group proceeded to treat them like the healers pet.

I had a good laugh especially because the healer was a Lala and the tank was a roe.

So today I realized simple directions are not enough.

Got Sohm Al normal on roulette as SAM. Rest of party is PLD, MCH, and AST. Everyone but me is in lvl 50 npc gear or ironworks. Some like it spicy I guess. Last boss I drop down markers for the newbies and tank to follow, and tell the tank to bring the boss to B, everyone else with green meteors come to A and drop them off.

Well, apparently either it was too simple of an explanation or they had truly never seen impact mechanics before, as both the MCH and AST would get meteors and bring them to A...and then sit there. We wiped twice. I could feel the pld's frustration as he went on to do more of an elaborate explanation of the mechanics. Both the MCH and AST finally understood and third attempt we down the boss.

Somehow I got two comms.

I have no idea why this garbage post was upvoted by 5 people lmao. I run ahead of the tank all the time. If the tank doesn't want me to run ahead of them, then they should be staying ahead of me. That's on them, not me. Why do you think everyone is just supposed to hang back and wait for the tank to move? Frankly, that's really dumb. To me it sounds like an ego thing. Does it hurt your pride that someone dares to go ahead of you or something?

Wow. This is the type of ignorance that annoys tanks. DPS that have no clue and run ahead pulling more groups than planned or easily avoided pats (intentionally or accidently) are what's dumb. Why should a tank have to work even harder because you can't do your only job: damage the enemies that are focused on the tank. Sure, at max level tanks shouldn't have any problem with this happening (still annoying) but everyone seems to forget that there are new players, or existing player leveling their first tank, running lower level dungeons that are still learning what to do.

Being a self-centered "me me me" dps that doesn't give a crap about anyone else is a big reason why tanks don't want to use the duty finder

Rescue should only be used to pull folks to safety from specific mechanics in relevant duties, to pull sprouts who've never seen a stack marker back to the group so they don't die, and to smack people into the Piano of Gentle Correction when they wait for the healer to cleanse Mortal Flame in Grand Cosmos.)

Was in Void Ark on a SCH. Pretty uneventful run until Echidna. The MT who has been tanking the entire time, ran their add to the wall. The other two just stood in the middle. So I was like, "If they're not going to separate, I'll separate them myself." And I ran to the wall and rescued my tank. Thing is, a healer in the other alliance had the same idea and we both rescued our tanks to the same spot and accomplished nothing.

In the case of people who do know what they're doing, it can also be used to nullify the animation lock of LBs or to nullify knockbacks on those who've already burned through Arm's Length or Surecast.
