Failed a guildhest today (yeah, remember those? :P)

Went into the 'save the turtle' one, so I said at the start 'don't kill the turtle', and we set about fighting.

Myself and other DPS stop when we got the fire core, healer disconnects, tank keeps fighting.

"Bring the turtle here." "Don't kill it" "Hello?"

And he kept going and going even when the NPC said "REMEMBER, DONT KILL THE TURTLE!" did he care? No, tank must dps this turtle even though no one is attacking except him, and we're repeatedly saying 'stop'. Turtle dies. "YOU IDIOT" says the NPC; DUTY FAILED.

I wish I /facepalm'd before the duty ended.

My dungeon run this morning took me to The Twinning. It was off to a "good" start: There was no tank there, because apparently they quit immediately to not run The Twinning.

At the very least, the WHM and Dragoon that were there turned out to be nice people, so we chatted until a new tank filled in. Also of note is that the Dragoon was new: this was their first run, and they still had the green sprout. So the rest of the party did the best to keep an eye out for them. The Tycoon was a good showcase of what experience does for you. I managed to get through the boss fight without dying and kept up my rotation. But the Dragoon died a couple times learning the mechanics. It felt almost nostalgic, seeing someone doing their first run like I once did.

Yeah that happened to me too a couple weeks back. Super annoying.

So hey, healers, when I play a caster DPS in a dungeon in the middle of a big pull and suddenly the tank loses aggro on like half the mobs to me, I would very much appreciate it if you wouldn't try to yoink me back to a distance with Rescue when I'm trying to run those mobs back to the tank and wait for them to be able to regain aggro.

Had an Aurum Vale where the tank didn't have stance on for the first few pulls, but was letting stuff run amuck even with it on, then they basically ignored every untelegraphed mechanic at the bosses, meaning I had to heal through them having five stacks of the debuff in the first and third fights and them eating every single swipe/swing from the cyclops boss. I feel like there was a language barrier issue because they refused to use the fruits even after asking them multiple times, and they didn't make a peep throughout the entire run.

I was straining to keep everyone alive, so not getting a single commend at end felt like a particularly big slap in the face. I feel like some people just auto-commend the tank by reflex without actually thinking.

Some people dont comm anyone. Try not to see it as a slap, see it as them not being smart enough to realize what you had to do for that run.

I had really interesting run in Titania that I got from trial roulette. Both tanks new, some dps too, but usually I'm more scared of the adds than not having good dps... Well as soon as the ring goes down our WAR runs to her and we start the fight. I didn't notice anything weird until going next to the tank for the mist runes and saw them only doing their 2 part AoE combo... The whole fight, they did nothing but those two skills :/
When adds popped up WAR picked up Puck and Peaceblossom and our PLD took Mustard even when it need no tank... Then the BIG add's spawn.. Both tanks on Mustard and be a poor SCH tanking both Peaceblossom and Puck, someone eventually took Puck off me, but till they died, I had Peaceblossom on me. When Titania comes back she has her agro on me.. And neither tank does anything about it even when I spam chat about it. Did you guys know SCH can take divination rune to their face with some shields? Well they can and live
I already had a horrible headache before this, but now it's worse. I think I will just bail each Titania that I get in roulette, it never goes well...

Had a run in Grand Cosmos where i learned two things. A the half room wide aoe if you reprisal allows a healer to survive the blow with about 7k health left.

B: the broom hitboxes are still pretty garbage for the first boss. that or the slight latency. who knows?

I also got to no healer the final boss with both dps solidly alive....Clemency is just too good still.

though I think I'm finally getting a handle for rotations for tanks other than drk which I'm still trying to figure out a smooth one that leaves me enough for TBN. if anyone has any ideas feel free to share them.

Got Orbonne in roulette while leveling RDM. Played some Verraise-A-Mole with the healers during Mustadio because they. died. to. everything. And then pretty much the rest of party died because of lack of healing... and then I was out-of-mana because I Verraise'd and Vercure'd until I couldn't anymore. And then Mustadio finally died and I left, because I shuddered to think what Agrias or TGC would have been like. Red Mages don't get paid enough for this...

Or better yet, don't treat commendations as an expectation or something deserved for <insert reason here>. They're not. People commend or don't commend for far more reasons than you can come up with to bother with worrying about whatever perceived reasoning based on your performance was behind it.
