Where did they bash their own products? I don't see them doing that anywhere.I can't anymore with this discussion. I think it's not correct, you can all disagree with me, but I'm going to stay of this opinion.
If you think it's fine for brands to bash their own products in order to sell new stuff then I can't argue with you because we fundamentally don't agree on that kind of business practice beyond this mogstation and SE.
And mundane is an insult. They sold us on this expac where we can be the epic warrior of darkness who saves the world with epic purple shadows and stuff, now apparently all of that was mundane and we need fairy wings.
I'm done.
Not to meme but dude, it's not that deep.

mun·dane
/ˌmənˈdān/
adjective
1.
lacking interest or excitement; dull.
From my experience as a Graphic Designer, using insults or derogatory terms in the taglines when referring to the potential customer is a no-no. Simply having the tagline say "Be Marvelous" would have been sufficient since that would be a wholly positive message while also having a similar call to action.

For funsies:
mundane - adjective
mun·dane | \ ˌmən-ˈdān , ˈmən-ˌdān \
Definition of mundane
1: of, relating to, or characteristic of the world
2: characterized by the practical, transitory, and ordinary : COMMONPLACE
the mundane concerns of day-to-day life
Could also mean common place or ordinary too, which I think is part of the context here. Though to be frank, I think this is getting a bit absurd. Theyre just trying to be like "Spice up your wardrobe" as a marketing thing, Soooo yeah.
"Spice up your wardrobe" is a positive message, who doesn't like a little spice? Referring to you as dull is not a positive message. Mundane is rarely used positively as an adjective, especially when it comes to selling clothes. You'd advertise your clothes as "spicy" but you wouldn't want to advertise your clothes as "mundane". If your referring to your potential buyer with adjectives you don't want associated with your products, you shouldn't be using those adjectives on your potential buyer. For funsies:

I know the definition of mundane, thanks. I don't see a makeup ad style catchphrase as a knock on every single one of the hundreds of pieces of gear in this game though. That's seriously one heck of a stretch. When SE emailed the Warrior of Darkness and called them dull.

...anyway this is a silly argument. To be frank, there are plenty of dull and ugly outfits both in game and on the mog station. I don't even think this dress looks all that great as anything but maybe a faerie princess cosplay item for like, an rp event on my character. Whether their ad quality is great or not doesn't matter, I seriously doubt their intent was to say "our glams suck, buy this one cause it doesn't."
