If you are comparing a single mount for 17 €, which adds nothing to the game but a skin, to an whole expansion, giving me hours and hours of new things to do (or in other terms, a small cosmetic DLC to an huge add-on) then you are missing the whole point.

We are talking about p2p game that is almost 7 years old and its subscription fee wasn't raised even once, while price for maitaining exsiting things and creating new onces doesn't stay the same - it only raises with time going. Not to mention that subscription money don't come back to the game in full amount, only mog station money do.
Do you realise how such things are possible? Take 50$, remember what you could buy for this amount in 2013 and compare with what you can buy for same 50$ now in 2020. If you think that prices in gamedev are mysteriously staying the same over decades - they don't. Are you ready to pay 25$ instead of 13$ or even more? I'm not, and I'll prefer having mog station with optional cosmetic items over higher fee.

GCBTW is always on dutyI'm just hear to read all the excuses people are going to make for having a cash shop in a buy to play mmo with a monthly sub that even requires you to buy extra storage because they refuse offer the basic functionality other games provide like shared storage between characters all while providing us with consistently less content.
And let's not forget how it is then followed by the personal offense they are taking from having actual legitimate criticism about the game and/or business practices of their favorite game/company. Instead of engaging in actual discourse about the subject.
Yep these threads are always interesting.
False. You can stop players from being bad. That healer whom I told that Regen works great against a poison debuff you can't remove in Aurum Vale, is now a better healer because they were leveling instead of buying boosts. The arcanist to whom I explained how DoT potency works is no longer only casting Ruin. They didn't do their research but they also didn't skip 70 levels worth of player tips by boosting themselves and so they got better. Where is this insane notion that no one learns anything whilst leveling coming from? Even the devs recognize that players improve when they play the class, because otherwise the jump potions would boost you straight to 80 (which, thankfully, is not the case).

You're proving my point since I said it's a player issue... not a pot issue. Again.. a player issue. I know people who got pots and out DPS vets who has been playing for years. It's all a people issue.False. You can stop players from being bad. So you're making a point, that players become "better" when they get explained something by another player?False. You can stop players from being bad. Now said healer might be spamming that regen on everything, even on pre-pull.
You can simply become "better" by reading tooltips yourself. But many people decide not to. And it doesn't matter if they did use level skip or leveled themselves.
You can't stop players from being bad if they decide that they want to play how they want.
It's disappointing, but what do people expect?
An actual small indie-dev might keep a cash shop somewhat in check in order to avoid impinging on their vision, but despite the memes, SE is in actuality a large multinational corporation. If people are prepared to pay, and they clearly are, then SE will be prepared to keep making exclusives for it.
Frankly, with the amount of people who will immediately buy whatever is released on it, we're pretty lucky it's as tame as it is. I was sure they'd have integrated it into the game by now, a dozen pop ups whenever you load in bugging you to buy crysta or whatever.

Are you seriously asking how teaching works?
They don't all decide that they want to play how they want. Some decide to accept the help and improve. If they buy a boost, they don't get any help at low levels.
I explained how buying a pot would have prevented a bad player from receiving advice, how is that not a pot issue?

Where's your proof that anyone that buys pot - is a bad player and that they make no research on how to play? Are you seriously asking how teaching works?

Where's your proof that you're competent enough to teach someone at all and that people that you "taught" actually became better players?

I don't particularly care to find proof for things I never said.
Things start going smoother when I give players some advice.
