Paying to skip content is an idea so mindbogglingly stupid that I didn't think anyone would actually cough up money for that.

To you. However, I have an alt and zero interest in replaying ARR. I value the time it would take to grind through all those quests more than the $11 it'd cost to skip them. So...

This strikes me as the kind of thing someone would say after paying $19 for avocado toast.

What if it is? I used restaurants as an example for a reason. A lot of people would argue paying $40-50 for a steak is absurd. Just as many wouldn't bat an eyelash. It all comes down to how someone values what they want. You also conveniently ignored where I brought up the cost of game development has skyrocketed yet retail value of games hasn't budged in well over a decade. Companies don't just eat those costs but shift at least a portion onto the customer.

So selling useless things to idiots is harmless, I can agree with that. That still makes me to question why there is a 20 page complaint about cosmetics and not paid retainers, which are not useless. They offer inventory space, market space and ventures which all have an impact on game play, unlike cosmetics. Why is the player base not appalled that basic game features are severely limited without paying more for it but gets mad about paid outfits (which fit the "selling useless things to idiots" description as well)?

Because these 20 pages are mostly 10 people trying to explain to 2 people that selling cosmetics isn't harmful. While in case with sellable retainers most people would brobably agree on the matter, so the threads (there were some) just kind of... sank in that tone of threads with argues. A bit of exaggertaion here, but the idea is clear I think.

Also, until they put the retainer pic right into the launcher, there probably were people who didn't know about the possibility to buy them at all (there still are such people I suppose, considering I do see questions like "How can I hire more retainers?" in novice network).

That said, I still don't find sellable retainers harmful, though it's obvious that it would be better if they were available to obtain in game rather than for money.

When the content is as mindbogglingly boring and frustrating to play through a second time as current ARR is, taking the easy out to skip it is far from stupid. Why waste my time slogging through content I only enjoyed half of the first time when I can just knock it out of the way and not have to waste literal days doing fetch quests and unlocking crap I've already unlocked once before?

If playing alts in this game was less miserable I'd have had no desire to skip because I wouldn't have had anything undesirable to skip, but I had friends on two data centers and a wall of content I didn't want to do between me and playing with my friends. Made it to level 30 before I was fed up enough to skip.

Seems to me like this was a missed opportunity to add this item to the pixie vendor as a new item(s) upon completing the eventual allied quest chain. Maybe they'll make an item that just shows the wings, and not the awful robe *fingers crossed*

...are you still talking about music for Memoria Misera? Because if you are... are you seriously suggesting that they composed and recorded new music for the trial and then didnt put it into the fight because they were to busy creating this new mogstation glamour...?

And in case you're not talking about the music but about this glamour being finished earlier: So what. It wouldnt have been available through in game means either way and it didnt take away from the time the devs are spending on the game, again: mogstation team is different and nothing thats created for the mogstation would have been in the game without the mogstation. Its not being taken out of the game and out of what we're getting... its just extra.
