To add on to what Rasikko said... as an example most companies here in the US majorly retailers are in the red almost all year (red meaning they aren't making much in profits) only at certain times are they really in the black (making profit) it's why the day after Thanksgiving is called Black Friday, they make an profit that day due to people going out and shopping those sales and it's how black friday got its name.

Square enix is never wrong in these forums, that's the first rule. Reddit is somewhat better but its UI is very anti-discussion if your topic isn't chosen to be on the front page.

I don't want things for free, I want consistent quality overall. When stuff in game looks lower grade than mogstation stuff it's an issue in my opinion.

Like someone else said, it's subjective, but you can look at my post on page 7 and judge for yourself how much effort has been put into each outfit.

I don't mind if they put cute things on mogstation that look cool and different, I just want the in game stuff to have that same quality.

If we had caster outfits that had the same attention to detail, I'd be 100% fine with this dress. But no, they gave us floaty shoulder pads with square cuts and huge rivets. It's not like that gear is coming out of Eulmore, you know, the place that's supposed to be super fancy where we see super fancy people walking about with their servants......................

Because you're already paying for content, so technically you're paying for it twice. There's no reason not to include it in a game that they're already making money off of with copies sold + monthly fees.

And then there are these people...
No, you're paying to play the game. That $13 or so a month, and the $40 or so you pay for the expansions go to exactly what you get, the ability to play the game, and the content included and mapped out to come later through patch updates. That money doesn't go towards the Ivalice Raid, that raid is already included with the expansion.
That dress that just dropped, that Motorcycle mount, that flying bed, are NOT included in the package, they were separately made.
You aren't paying for the game twice, this is a selfish mentality that people rationalize because they want things for free. They see something they want, and then they freak out when they see a price tag on it. "I already paid to get into the Carnival, why do I have to pay for food, to play games, or to go on rides? Greedy Practice"

And How about the Cost of Production and to Maintain?
$10-$20 or so from somewhat Million people playing the game is alot of money, but besides into SE's pocket, they have to pay the dev team, their employees, server costs, the tech support that helps maintain the servers, music production, Voice actors, rent on the build they work in, possibly to their investors, advertising, the art team, food and drink, supplies, electric bills, the list goes on. That money goes to alot of things that needs to be maintained, and witht he cost of things rising, people need to look for additional avenues to make money.
So while you might just be thinking about how much the game is making alone, you need to factor in Business COSTS, for the game, and everything behind the scenes

Ehhh, most people don't really like SE here from what I've seen. We'll defend the dev team most of the time because they are jerked around by SE just as much as the rest of us - but most people I've seen have either a middling or distrustful opinion of the actual "small indie" company that runs this game.
