    The Firmament teleport ticket

So...there is a teleport ticket we can buy for 500 (!) scrips to teleport directly to the firmament. Idk what SE had in mind when they set the price for this item.

For example, you can buy some of the rare dyes and sell it for at least 50k gil which gives you enough gil to at least teleport 50 times from your current location to the edge of the universe. Not to mention that emotes and glam sold for more so it's even more hilarious.

So...is it just me going crazy and not getting the sense behind it or did SE just spammed the 0 too much?

You're right, it makes no sense unless they give a large quantity of them for the same price.

The GCs sell similarly overpriced teleport tickets - 2000 seals if I remember right. At that price I'd expect a permanent item, not a single trip.

Perhaps the designers were thinking of different things between the creating and the pricing of it.

Those are actually not that bad if you are Maelstrom. When you hit Stormblood, I find you start to hit limitations of reasonable ways you can spend your GC seals after you have thousands of ventures and the crafting materials are drying up in value on your world, including the ones you get from desynth. Still not worth it for Twin Adders or Immortal Flames IMO but I'll gladly skip a loading screen for Maelstrom. It is kind of like 14k seals/week luxury service.

Im sitting on the far side of the world(really, anywhere but the entrance to firm or ishgard aether plaza) and i get notice that the next phase is starting(or just started). In this scenario im probly just logging in. Pop the ticket to get straight in and participate in one loading screen instead of 2. For some people the loading time saved might mean they get to participate instead of just missing it. Its a niche item sure, but not totally worthless. Ooooh, or popping it when housing goes up to get into the zone faster to buy?

It's a niche item, but not a completely useless one. What I wonder more about is if the ticket (and the entire scrips shop and appraising, at this point) will stay there once the Restoration is completed. Other housing zones (as it's hinted several times that Ishgard will be one, altough still not 100% confirmed) don't have any fast travel system, except the zone you have a house in, so once the area is restored, the need for the ticket will be under the question.

I bought it, and no, it isn't permament. Each travel to the Firmament via ticket will cost 500 scrips.

Thank goodness Ishgard is my free teleport-spot since 3.4-times! I would have been very upset to buy such ticket only to realize a huge waste of points. :<

And then you realize you can buy those same tickets for like 5 allied seals. . .

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
