[Request] Free Companies need some updates

I believe Yoshida said something like he does not want people who are not in guilds to be left out or something along those lines..

Yoshida has been on the stance that no one should be left out of anything for whatever reason since day 1, which has frankly caused more problems that it solved. In an mmo no one is technically locked out of anything, you just need to be able to meet the prerequisites. People complain about real life this and real life that, but that's just their own life and an mmo, which is meant to have hundreds of thousands to millions of players cannot cater to just you, something many do not understand.

If they would move away from the "everyone must be included from the start, regardless of how much time or effort they want to put in" they would solve many fundamental issues plaguing the game.

Exactly this. It's an attitude that has dragged down so much content in this game, it can't be rewarding, challenging, time consuming or efficient because someone might feel "forced" to do it. So many things in the game either have long grinds but lukewarm rewards, or good rewards but done and over in a day. Trying to give everyone everything just results in us having less.

As someone else mentioned, unlocking more active buff slots would be nice. I would also like a queue system for the buffs so if no one is on to activate them at the end of the 24hr period, they can just continue on to whatever is next in the lineup.

it's this kind of elitism that makes me glad XIV is the way it is. It's just enough for my tastes. this kind of mentality is suited more to WOW imo.

Honestly, this is part of why I've stuck with FFXIV far longer than I ever did with WoW.

How is it elitism.

Everyone has the ability to work towards the content, everyone has the ability to join guilds. You can never make content for everyone. The content that you all find great, others find horribly lacking. Alot of people do not want to do everything in pugs/statics/party finders which this game forces on you.

What is elitist are those who demand there be no guild content so they do not have to socialize and work to build something.

Guilds are the backbones of mmos. In ffxiv there is 1 kind of guild Social/casual cause no other guild can exist. Would be nice to be able to build event centric guilds/endgame guilds. But in comparison to all other successful mmos, ffxiv is the only game with 0 guild content that is not vanity purposed. So guilds are not a WoW thing they are a MMO thing.

It's puzzling if not disappointing that ranks 21-30 get no perks, why add them unless they are planning to add some in later.
