    Please elaborate
    It is bad idea.
S/E should not recreate the same dumb mistake made by Blizzard with their mobile guild bank and laughable Garrison
Retainer Bell / AH is what keeps the game looks alive.
If everyone is comfortable with a mobile Retainer bell the cities will be ghost town.
Blizzard did a lot of thing for the sake of player convenience but many of these are directly and indirectly causing MMORPG dying as a genre

We often read that but the genre is not dying. WoW, FFXIV, TESO, BDO, are working rather fine (We can still consider Rift, Neverwinter, Aion, Blade and Soul and a few others Marvel, SWTOR...).

The real problem is there are too many MMORPG released or to be released (more than 100) and all the WoW killers or the "old way" MMOs are big fails, because they are all medieval, all ArcheAge-like and poorly implemented with ridiculous graphics (especially to compare to BDO). MMOFPS, BattleRoyal or Hack'n'Slash have the same problem. They all want to be the CoD killer, the LoL killer, the Fornite killer etc.

Wildstar wanted to be more hardcore, more "the old way" but they failed because the translation in other languages came too late, building a community was not very easy and both the UI and the inventory stuff/system were lacking of clarity.

Which is why i said except for putting things on market board for sale. If that was really a reason than maybe they should remove athernets so the streets will also be more alive ..not just specific areas .that way everyone can just and have to walk around no teleport. Filling the streets and areas running around...making the world even more alive! lol

They really don’t wanna make it convenient to where on top of all that we have to pay real money every month ...to get extra retainers...

There is some people who think the contrary, that the mmorpg genre did become successful beyond all expectations, and continue to be so : https://www.reddit.com/r/MMORPG/comm...tead_of_dying/ The reasoning being that mmorpgs aren't like all the others types of games which you finish in a few hours before hoping on to the next one. Mmorpgs are supposed to be persistent worlds in which to live in, with nether ending updates, and if all the big ones continue to be successful to keep their players along, of course all new mmos will keep failing, leaving a false impression of "mmorpgs are dead".

As for what the op is talking about, there is limitations when it comes to handle the items datas so that the servers can keep working correctly. For example SE already said that's why we can access the glamour dresser only in inn and squadron rooms, and not somewhere else like in every houses with a glamour dresser housing item. There would probably be huge problems of the same sort with giving players access to their retainers from somewhere else than the bells.
