Oh my god all those people that take this suggestion as a personal attack do need some kind of help.
On the flip side, why do I even expect common sense from the playerbase anymore?
I can't believe this thread is still going...I needed a good laugh, thanks.
Guilty as heck.
On another note now that I see how this affects other players, Ill try my best to not go into fights looking completely ridiculous. I did get the moogle outfit yesterday though so Im in a bit of a pickle.

I mean.. it really should NOT matter what you wear. Dress your character in whatever you enjoy. The whole point of this option is so that you can do what you like and other people can have an option to not see it if they don't want it. Nobody has any right to tell you how to enjoy this game as long as what you like isn't impinging on anyone elses enjoyment.
Wear dem slippers and thongs all you like, just understand that there are some people out there who don't want to see it and if they had a choice would "filter" you. Tolerance should go both ways.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
I think to appease both sides we should have an option to just toggle the whole darn player off and you can run the dungeon being mysteriously healed or shielded by an unseen force. If you can’t accept me at my bikini tank, you don’t deserve me at my full raid gear.
I’m not being entirely facetious, either. If they are going to entertain glamour censorship I would prefer to just not be looked at at all by people who really can’t stomach some silly slippers for a 20 minute dungeon run in this high fantasy, serious game.
I would kinda like an option that turns players off or turns them into floating flames or something for immersion purposes and to perhaps increase performance when needed.
Turn them into floating symbol of their job/role perhaps

Huh, and people called me "entitled" for some wishes that were much more humble than yours. I wonder which awful term they might use when they read this one.

I mean, it's not really much of a surprise that this thread has gotten to this point.
"Why stop at glamours? Let's just toggle other players on and off!"
Saw that coming since page 1. And it is probably the worst suggestion this thread has to offer which is saying a lot.
I wouldn't be against such an option. I live in a gated community where everybody knows each other and visitors aren't permitted entry without a visitor's pass. It'd be pretty easy for me to adjust to such a system being implemented in-game. Whether it's someone opting to hide my character on their screen or the other way around, I wouldn't have an issue with it.
In my experience the players who are most eager to be seen tend to be the sort to embrace unpleasant aesthetics, be it through how they opt to decorate their houses or by the way in which they opt to glamour their character.
