Don't know about this one, but usually these kind of threads are created by new, or inactive forum users. Usually viera players, or past viera players. Yeah, they should probably look up threads covering their topic using the search function (which is what I do - if I want to post). BUT there isn't really a megathread for this topic, so even if they did that they would just have to choose one or the other, since there are so many.

I used the Y’shtola hair a LOT as other races, heh. So something close on viera would be amazing! I also like the lop ear look a lot...

The one above the short lop is also really nice. Reminds me of another that I liked on the other races (medium length, bangs) but with the nice viera fluff and volume.

That one kind of looks like one of the styles we already have, but with more hair in the front. I'd hope for a little more unique styles if they intend on giving us viera specific styles instead of the regular styles. It looks like they are still playing around with flowers in the hair - which I can't say I always like, but I get it, the theme of it. I wonder if they are going to do what they did before and give us several of the same styles with bangs or no bangs, to kind of inflate the number of actual unique styles.

And how many people that may not even got the forum that often will watch a stream?

They legit make purple text announcements in game saying stuff like "Hey, come check out our twitch stream at such and such time to here from so and so!" when they're close to having a stream. I've FOLLOWED live streams in shout chat in game with people talking about them so yeah, many people watch them.

The info is there for anyone who has an interest in it. Plain and simple. "B-b-but you didn't deliverer it in this specific way!" oh please. There's been an official translated QnA answer on this forums for months now that said Viera would only get racial unique hairs and I've had to remind people of that even now. It's easier to whine with a drive by thread/ comment/ post and huff off back into the shadows regardless of how easy the answer is to find.

Have you read these forums? 9 out of every 10 topics are the same complaints over and over and over again. And that’s all most people do is throw out complaints.

Also i never said they worked on one thing at a time in fact i pointed out they work on a lot of things. Expansion, patches, new types of content, gear design, bug fixes, arr slimdown, new game plus stuff, etc etc etc. so yea misconstrue my point all you like but fact is this team does a lot and people sitting here posting up the different threads for the same topics day in and day out arent doing anything.

Especially when there’s been communication recently and people just have their hands out expecting more. You got told they are working on it. Just because you feel you waited enough doesn’t mean they are ignoring you or unaware of the issue or are lazy. Viera on this hairstyle thing have gotten more info than all the other stuff combined got up until they were released. Everything else sits in the dark waiting for any whisper of a rumor of progress. Viera players know the team is working on it.

Didnt he also state that its better to condense these kinds of thread into a single thread and keep pushing it rather than create a bunch of smaller threads with what ends up being diminishing returns as people get fed up seeing the same threads over and over again?

I stopped caring about going into the details and context of Viera problems with people who don't want to understand and only know how to "want thing now". I'm now in "chill and watch" mode. So I'm glad to see at least 1 person say these things.

I have many many MANY times asked "Why do people not just make a single thread about this topic so that it can get the attention of the devs, share wants and desires and comb over every bit of new info AND contain the talk like the Male Viera thread?". But people don't care, this thread will fade into nothing and someone will make another and another and another and wonder why other posters start pushing back on the topic.

I didn't watch the stream, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but those last designs look like they were probably the original design before Yoshida told the design team to make the vieras unique and not hold back. The ear placement (although coming from the top) bends out like the Elezen / Lalafell ear positions. I wonder if that's early concept to try to keep the heads similar to the human head model. I also remember during one of the fanfests a designer for Viera let it "slip" that we would be able to choose young Vieras and Vieras with 'bent' ears. I wonder if they took the original concept art and thought it would be a nice ear / head design, then scrapped it all together once they went with the upright ears.

Again, just me speculating - please correct me if I'm wrong since it they discussed Vieras in the stream.

I've been maining Viera since they launched in Shadowbringers but I take breaks because of how unfinished they are. It's very sad to see how they handled this race, since this was the first race the original XIV fans voted for in the poll taken back in 2011 2011-2012 (there were a couple of polls that went out, I can't remember exactly when the one with the race question went out). When asked what we wanted to see added, the number one want from players were to add missing genders to all races. The second most wanted race were Vieras. Instead, they added Aura, then they added Hrothgar (what Yoshida wanted originally) and tacked on Viera last at the end because that's what the fans have wanted from the beginning.

They can finish these races and continue producing content. They have the money and resources. Focusing both within the SE company from other projects (*cough*FF7*cough*otheryoshidaproject) may be the challenge, but we're talking about the team that both updated / repaired a completely broken MMO AT THE SAME TIME AS creating a new MMO off the bones of a broken one.... there's no argument that will ever convince me they can't complete both races and offer support going forward - even from Yoshida himself.

->The mixed-race-option seems pretty popular according to the numbers - and as I have already seen countless of people who are Hilda-fans a ka expressed interest into playing a Hyur-Elezen, I can't believe the devs were back then abandoning two community-favorites (bunny-race and mixed characters) at the same time. X.x

You’re annoyed at all the topics about the subject and yet you are consistently in every single new topic about it unable to resist trying to have the last word about how whiny you think all viera players are.

These topics are usually started by different people who don’t know about the thread that occasionally gets necro’d and serves as sort of the “megathread” from what I can tell. Be the change you want to see in the world, stop posting in them, and that’s one less bump to the top when people get bored of the subject until the next hair that we can’t use comes out.

Now you understand my confusion when they released Au ra first lol. I was expecting Viera to be our first race since they also had concept art. The fact people are trying to rewrite history with misinformation is really alarming to me. People can be very passionate, but that passion is very misleading when we don't have all the facts (myself included - which is why I always try to look up proof to back up what I'm saying XD).

The truth is, the original fanbase wanted Viera, all the genders that were missing (Roe, Miqote, Highlander), and mixed races. I have no idea where Hrothgar even came from. The only clue I have is that Yoshi wanted something to compete with WoW, as he has been quoted saying Current Wow is FF's main competitor. I guess he wanted to give something for Horde fans to play, which is totally fine. However, people making excuses for this triple A dev team and just complaining about players who want -FINISHED- content along with providing misleading information about Viera demand only coming at Heavensward is beyond me. @_@

Also, those edits are really well done! Thank you for posting them. Personally, I would rather have helmets over hair (since most iconic FF sets are really defined by their cool hats). Still, both is what we should have gotten for Hrothgar and Viera. : /

I think they chose to do au ra partially because viera were giving them trouble at the time, and partially to introduce something different while still taking community feedback into account and making the females more cutesy. It ended up being a pretty successful decision despite not being exactly what players had hoped for on paper. That being said I am super happy they eventually did add in viera!

Also, you did a great job fitting the old hairs on viera! I’ve seen a few of these, and loathe as I am to give up my old favorites that I paid for/earned, I get now why they scrapped the idea of fitting old hair to viera. Most just aren’t up to par with the more defined texture of viera, and look off against the ear fur and the rest of the face.

When we do get new hair, I really hope we get a “pack” of 3-4 hairs, with bang toggles for 6-8 new options. Since I don’t think they’ll ever introduce viera only hair as a reward for doing content, I think that would be a good trade-off.

We all knew this already but it's nice to see visual proof that viera can use non racial hairstyles without much adjustment needed.
