Viera, hairstyles and the lack of love.

Meanwhile im just sitting here really wanting all of the Viera hairstyles. They made SO MANY for Viera - What would be so difficult about it for them to add all the existing hairstyles to viera, and add all the viera hairstyles to every other race? Is it the ears? If it is, why? Aura and Miquote already have ears that intersect hairs and as they showed in the recent artwork stream they even make unique concept art for the lalafell/elezen helmets and miquote helmets to account for their ears...

I wouldn't really call less than ten a lot. Sure it looks like more but half of them are just slightly different versions of one another, so in reality there isn't as many as it seems. They are nice, but not really numerous.

That said...! Other hairstyles that other races have should also have similar options to viera, and by that I mean being able to choose to have bangs or no bangs for some hairstyles.

What would be so difficult about it for them to add all the existing hairstyles to viera, and add all the viera hairstyles to every other race? Is it the ears?

I think hrothgar is part of the problem. You know players would be very unhappy if viera got a big style update if hrothgar did not. SE are probably waiting until they can give both races an update at the same time.

All this waiting would be much easier if SE said more than "we're working on it" over and over again. Show us some concept art or something. Give us something to look forward to!

This crap with Viera not getting ANY of the new hairstyles is going beyond ridiculous Square-Enix!!! The Viera are basically nothing but the Elezen character model with different ears so what's the deal? I don't understand why it's so difficult for a BILLION dollar company to be able to do something as simple as make some hair flow around some ears, when smaller, less known companies that make games like Tera CAN?

This also goes along with why can't the Viera wear head gear? The ears are no excuse! There are MANY helmets that I wear on my Miqo'te that the ears just disappear! Vieras ears can't "lay back under the helm" like Miqo'te?

And what about our tails? It's really that hard to put a little poof of hair back there with the texture of like the Primal Horse tail? Or even just an armor cover-up where a tail is supposed to be like it is on their race gear for regular armor and a fluffy tail when we have on swimsuits and other stuff where we should be able to see our tails? Tera can do it and it's a FREE to Play game, while y'all make millions a month from subs alone, not even counting MogStation sales!

Speaking of, why aren't glamour sets sold at a discounted price for people with Viera characters when they come with a head piece that we have to pay the same price for, but can't even wear?

And while I don't expect you to go all the way back to the start of the game and redo all of the foot armor, everything NEW, from the start of ShB, should have had high heels on them just like their race gear! Heck, even the concept art for the Dancer job was of a Viera with spike heels on their shoes, yet in the game, we are forced to wear the same flat crap as everyone else?

We want our Viera to have all of the characteristics that make us special and set us apart! If that was too much to ask from such a big, well known, company to do, they shouldn't have even been added to the game in the first place! I want to play as a VIERA, not a Elezen with rabbit ears on it, I can get that fake look from the Golden Saucer, and even that has a tail...

Quit being cheap and give us Real, Fully Fleshed Out, VIERA!!!

Design decision probably. Being coupled with hrothgar, the intent seems to be to give viera viera unique hairstyles, rather than hairs everyone else gets.

The ears are a huge excuse, given they have a slider and multiple variations. My viera's ears are very large. Plus again, design decision. If they just hid the ears on a helmet they would literally just be hyur.

Heck to the NO. Full stop First off I don't think viera actually had tails, if I remember correctly, AND we already have enough tailed races in the game, having no tail is a PERK, in my opinion. Poof tail... MY GOD THE CLIPPING.

You want them to model unique foot gear too? I mean, best not to settle for mediocrity, but this is a a bit of an ask.

I don't feel that way! People should blame SE for doing hrothgar dirty! Hrothgar deserve to exist too!

I for one love the lion-men since the devs posted back in SB-times the screenshot of a dapper exemplar with glasses -- and I spent my first day in 5.0 with blowing kisses at each Hroth I saw.

They are. Unlike cat ears they are they are their own models and sit in the "hat" slot. That's cause there are 4 of them unlike cat ears. So if the devs wanted to make hats for them (... how every they would go about doing that) they would have to make custom models for them and 4 different models to match the 4 different ears to replace them.

I could go on and on replying to people who don't want to actually think and place blame on Hrothgar. I personally chuckle reading the "Hrothgar resentment" as people blame Hrothgar for their lack of bunny options as to be "even/ fair" when Hrothgar actually get more head gear than them (newer helms that cover up all the head and don't have a visor option can be worn by lion dudes ... can't show on Viera cause of their ears. Guess that's why they got the Fran Helm Hairstyle, I suspect that will be the route the devs take in some way).

Unfortunately it's kind of just an illusion that we have a lot of styles. Of the 17 total, there are only actually 8 unique shapes. Not sure how that stacks up to the other races... but we actually even have a style with three variations on the exact same general hair shape. One adds a tiny bit of bangs, the other adds that metal 'helmet' (the only other difference on the helmet one being it seems to have very slightly more volume?? It's almost unnoticeable though). Every other style is doubled with a slight variation.

And the style I'm using clips pretty badly into our shoulder while idling xP Luckily most gear hides that pretty well but it is kinda funny seeing a spike just poke out of my collarbone sometimes.

Compare to the 51 total hairstyles I can use on fem Miqo'te. Only 6 of which are duplicates if I'm counting correctly... I see one style with four variations, and three with two variations (headband style, Y'shtola style, pigtails, and the long one that comes with optional bangs).

So 8 "unique" styles vs. 45 - and that's at character creation, not the aesthetician.
