I wish they didn't remove housing after 45 days. Only reason I stay subbed even though I don't really play much between updates is since I have 2 larges in the same ward. Don't want to lose that! Why? Because for an unknown reason, they think it is better to have limited wards rather than instancied housing, that is kinda weird since they added some instancied housing as Inn, FC room or apartment. And housing, except garden is instancied as soon as you enter. So...
Considering what Wildstar or BDO are able to do with housing, SE choice is bad. But it's not as if it was a new. Many people say the housing is broken since they open to individual.![]()
The irony of disagreeing with a system meant to mitigate a limited resource while also being a core cause of the need for said system but hoarding said resource.
Why is it so important to you to be owning houses you don't use in a game you don't want to be playing most of the time?
If you didn't cling to those houses that you aren't using, you wouldn't need to maintain your subscription solely so you could enter them once every 45 days.
Your choice, of course, but seems like a bad one if it's making you unhappy.

That's exactly what I mean about tieing 1 house to an account along with 1 FC house. There was a post some years back with someone posting that they had 2 mansions, 3 houese, 8 cottages and 3 FCs. Or the one time two people on Mataeus purchased like 28 houses or something like that.

45 days is a LONG time not to log in. If you can't find time to do it, well, then it obvious it is not THAT important to you.
Seriously, with the advent of laptops and easy internet access around most places in the world, surely one can make the time to logon and update their house if they really care about it. And if you play on ps4, well, I guess one would have to 'double dip' to be able to play the game on their laptop (if they have one) to keep the house. After all, it's ONLY money, it's your HOUSE that you put soooo much time in!
I honestly wonder what people are doing to keep them from total game access though for such a long time. Like I said, if one is willing to spend the money, one can keep their house. How much it is TRULY worth to you?

You know, you can play 6month and clear all the content of each extension. And you are probably really young to ignore how fast the time flies.
But that's not even the problem. The problem is to lose housing thought even buy-to-play as BDO or Wildstar are/were able to provide a full housing for everyone without timer. It becomes even worst when you see events items end in mogstation even thought you can lose items or they can be stolen (if you use it for FC). Especially BDO you can buy three of any of the biggest houses (the only current restriction is you need to overfill houses to invest in the town but if you are only interested in housing and interiors design, you are free to do whatever it pleases you).
All these for wards that are ghost towns (if would be less a problem if at least wards were lively).
The problem is the principle itself. Before the housing release people were expecting instancied house for everyone (one most recurring was floating islands in Nym Area, for example).

After playing for 5-6 years nonstop GOD FORBID I want to take a break for a couple of months or have something come up in real life. I'm completely ABSOLUTELY underserving of that house I maintained for such a long time!!!!45 days is a LONG time not to log in. Then give up your house and take a break. It's really that easy, I've done it twice in 5 years. You can get a new house when your interest in the game peaks again because someone else's house will get demolished.
Houses are for fcs and players who play at least every 45 days and more people get to enjoy the feature this way. I don't know how someone who isn't even subscribed to the game can think they should be allowed to reserve a limited game resource and the content it provides. Apartments are better suited for temporary subscribers.

It's really not as simple as that, not for everyone anyway. I mean for me I'd lose a TON of money if I just gave up my house right now - I'd have to sell or trash a huge amount of stuff on my retainers and in my house to even fit all of my furniture anywhere, and a lot of it is cash shop or crafted (hence lot of money), and I just flat don't have anywhere to put it. Plus I'm pretty sure the 20 mil or so I spent on the house isn't something I get back if I demolish is it? Could be wrong on that but if not then like... I've had this house for like a year and a half and I don't even have 20 mil again yet. I literally couldn't afford to buy the house I live in now rn <<Then give up your house and take a break. At any rate I'd really love if they made it LESS of a limited resource. Someone suggested condos in another thread, or apartments that are bigger or have instanced balconies, or heck condos with greenhouses in the back or on the roof idk, something that lets more people do the housing thing without having to ration houses with sub incentives and wonky timers
