To be fair, we don't know its alcohol though. Doesn't say its alcohol so its just assumptions just based off MH and that's just one scene too in MHW.

idk what monster hunter has to do with it, but that's very clearly a beer mug, and i don't remember the last time i saw someone chug a glass of water and react the way you do in the emote. i have seen toasts of ale and beer go down that way however.

edit: actually just checked its description on the mogstation. It is referred to as "grog" there, which is a term for an alcoholic beverage, usually beer. The addition of the phrase, "just make sure it stays down..." Is also quite telling.
