Pretty much.
Roes were already not that popular before Hrohgar. After Hrothgar Roegadyns are practically extinct.
1% and .8% vs the almost 3% for Hroth.
Female numbers are even lower now that there's another race that can be equally as tall and thicc.
I can't say I care much for 'diversity' when it's applied in such a hypocritical manner. If diversity was truly such a grave concern then surely it would have been a priority not to add yet another 'pretty' female race? The game has plenty of options for that already but not nearly as many options for 'handsome' male characters. It doesn't help that an older interview has Yoshi-P stating that he thinks male viera would be 'weird' and that he'd probably add something different over them if given the opportunity. I don't have it to hand, though perhaps someone else has the link that they can share?
The same could be said for Viera, they're "Elezen but better" the same way Hroths are "just Roe 2.0", and neither race was , or even is, popular.
Also if that chart is anything to go by, Hroths are still more popular than male and female Roegadyn combined.

The numbers speak for themselves. Whatever it is that differentiates Viera female from their Elezen counterpart is enough to put them at roughly 8.5% of the playerbase (after falling off from c12%, probably in part because of limitations to the race.) Better textures and much more fluid animations, plus prettier faces, help. I think the figures certainly do seem to indicate that, whilst Hrothgar beat out Roegadyn, the build is very niche in nature, whereas for Elezen, it is the stiff animations and models that are the biggest turn off.
That's because luckybancho is now making sure to exclude bots from the statistics. Only reason why Hyur was more popular was due to it being the default race and botters go auto-default till name selection.
I'm cool with being the lowest played race. I get to avoid the "same face" problem that the other races have to a larger extent. Yet I also get the creepiest tells.
>creepy tells
>Male Roe
>Balmung
You're basically the last piece of candy in a sugar starved gathering. It's to be expected.
I used to get a lot of creepy messages back when I played on Balmung, too. It was one of the many reasons why I chose to leave.
