Nah, we need bigger, larger dodos. Huge, glowing, sparkly, SHINING dodos.
Dem birds make the world better.
Ok, silliness aside - I actually like the change, and I hope Square will keep elaborating on this, as it brought out the full potentials of several creatures.
Monsters are too BIG now.
Make them smaller SE -- just hit "ctrl z" next patch.
I prefer the new sizes. The enemies just didn't feel intimidating enough before. Bigger = badder.
They look like parodies of themselves now.
The OP's summary of the situation using the word "silly" was, in one word, a very apt and complete appraisal of the current situation.
edit: Some things are supposed to be small, some are not. There is an aesthetic to anything and by making everything haphazardly larger they've made a garbage sandwich with extra garbage on the side.
If they wanted more large mobs in the game, they should have added different ones into the game that are supposed to be large, ie. more beastmen roaming around or some other things that were bigger to begin with.
Oh, and in keeping with gamer lingo. Sloppy re-size is sloppy.

I'll agree that some of the mobs did need to be made bigger, but some of them are just too big now.
Take for example, the toads on the leves in Gridania. The ones that spawn near the bridge are just too big. You can often get stuck inside the mob, or stuck against a wall and unable to see anything that is going on. It makes targetting party members annoying and watching out for other aggro is hard too.
