Skill tree so I can main Thunder as a BLM
Yes we really do need a spec system who cares if everyone is a fire mage or a thunder mage I wan't to be a blizzard or water blm.
Alot of excuse people use is "one will always be better so its a illusion of choice" that is total bs and they know it so what if one is better the number game doesn't matter its the enjoyment you take from it beside what is best for one isn't always the best for you.
The whole storyless open-world leveling system of Anarchy Online. The closest thing to quests were these randomly generated missions with a canned piece of text attached, but those were really bland and repetitive. The game did have a few dungeons with bosses in them, but they were open-world affairs where any number of players could explore at once. Camping bosses was common. And trains. There wasn't really much in the way of experience rewards. Missions gave some, but were often so far that the experience per hour was not great. For large ranges of levels the most efficient way to gain experience was to just go out and kill enemies. Lots of enemies. And the max level was not something tame like 50 or even 99. No, in the original game it was 200. Then the first major expansion added 20 levels on top with much slower experience gain, the second expansion added 30 levels of an entirely different kind that could only be obtained by a certain type of enemy and had their own experience system, and the third expansion added 70 levels of yet different kind which siphoned experience off the primary levels. So in the end max level was denoted as 220/30/70. That was a lot of grinding.
Mounts that have various speeds, skills, traits and function. Typically with the harder to obtain variety outshining the easily obtainable ones.
I'm personally a huge fan of mount systems that include this kind of variety (GW2, Archeage, BDO come to mind..), but I feel like it wouldn't fly here. We already have people who complain about certain mounts being locked behind difficult and/or tedious content. Now imagine if the differences between mounts wasn't just superficial.
Synch down your equipment when doing fate, dungeon but not synch down your skill level, it will make dungeon run more fun, because job feel broke when they has level synch down now
The game neverwinter does it and i have to say that it feel much better than get your lv synch down in FF14
Oh, I got a good one for this: Lootboxes
But not just any lootbox, no! Endgame gear lootboxes. You get a 0.8% chance to roll that juicy ilvl 1000 gear. And then you gotta be lucky enough for it to be for your preferred job, which is a 1 in 7 chance. All that RNG for the low price of 19,99 per box.
In game RNG is already quite the target of discontent, looking at you Ocean Fishing, now imagine tying that to end game gear progression and the mogstation!
Honestly I did exaggerate a little, because I have not played a game that does it to such an extreme extent. But I also hope SE will not take this as a challenge to show me how they would do it.
Agreed on that, i cannot see that do well in FF.
