It’s kinda weird too tbh. It’s not Ryne that chose to look that way, but a creepy primal controlling her, forcing her to, with a fake Hraesvelgr, and a fake love for him in which he entwines around her while she is wearing nothing but a bit of cloth around her waist. It’s being done to her, rather than it being her choice, so that adds a weirdness to it.

I still think pregnant Past-Alma is worse, but as a woman, this is still a bit unsettling to me.

In my opinion the savage version is very well done and became easily my favourite primal in the game, especially since I absolutely am in love with the music. Ryne's outfit does not bother me (a woman) in the slightest and I fail to see how SE sexualized Ryne.

The girl transformed into Shiva which is pictured as an adult woman so it makes sense that Ryne's body also became a bit older. Ryne's transformation into Shiva was also out of free will. Thancred and my WoL were even against her performing but she did it anyways. She was completely aware that things could go wrong and that she might lose control over her fusing with Shiva. Hopefully the girl learned from her mistake

Regarding her outfit Ryne-Shiva wears light cloth but she was never portrayed as overly sexy or shown in seductive poses. Rather I view her as innocent and pure like an angel which fits the wings she has on her back with Hraesvelgr protecting her. Her transformation also reminds me more of Anime magical girls like Sailor Moon of whom I was a huge fan of as a small child. Would they show Ryne-Shiva completely naked without all that light covering her while transforming or performing seductive animations I would agree with you.

Also you can not control how other players fantasize about her... they will even do that if Ryne-Shiva is completely clothed from head to toe.

Err, but this version of Shiva isn’t innocent and pure. It’s straight creepy. She’s trying to murder you, something Ryne would never do, and the Hydaelyn motifs reminds us that something is inside of Ryne. I am getting PTSD from where Hydaelyn possesses Minfillia for the first time, speaking through her, and giving her those weird eyes. Plus everything with angel wings this expansion have been mindless, creepy, murder machines. That isn’t Ryne it’s something else.

Lots of things about the fight are just unsettling as a whole. And I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be unsettling, they’ve been building towards something for several expansions now.

I guess I'll jump into this ludicrous thread again to point out that nothing is being "done" to her. Where you even pulled that from, I have no idea.

She used herself as a vessel to summon a primal and the power was too much for her to handle so it overloaded her. She isn't having squat done to her other than having her face beaten in, but let's keep glossing over that.

Primals have a will of their own, it’s the primal that’s doing that to her. With some creepiness from Hydaelyn thrown in. The whole fight is creepy.

Ryne is the oracle of light, just like Minfilia. Therefore I really enjoyed that they pictured Hydaelyns influence on Ryne in that fight. It was very fitting that Ryne transformed not only into Shiva but into Hydaelyn as well since the element ice is very close to the element light which Ryne embodies.

Hydaelyns influence and control on both Minfilia and Ryne (and the WoL) can be discussed however. But let's wait for that until the MSQ plays out. Right now we do not know if Hydaelyn is good or evil. Also Minfilia gave herself up to Hydaelyn willingly.

Was it entirely willing though? Because what I remember, was that she was snatched from the Lifestream by Hydaelyn, which is why Minfillia couldn’t be brought back, unlike Y’shtola and Thancred. And then gets possessed afterwards, she’s practically a prisoner

That question is exactly why we have to wait until it is revealed that Hydaelyn really does give their children free will. At least her oracle form told us while meeting her that she did give herself to Hydaelyn out of free will.
