On patch day I completed all of the new Eden Raids...when it came to E7, well...we had a color-blind healer and the other had glaucoma. During the purple and white circle phases, things would go south pretty quick. Neither of the healers could identify what portals were being shot into first either. My struggle with the fight is I feel you can't zoom out enough to see the entire arena which resulted in blind spots for me, however, we kept wiping after the AOE check due to healers dying.

This party had 20 wipes before we realized it was hopeless. My second party wiped five times but we completed it. At least I have this fight and its mechanics memorized at this point. Ooof.

So we are now in 5.2 with a new trial and new raids and people still don't know that you musn't stack 2 stack markers together and that you must look away from the big shiny purple eye.

The eye in Shiva is EXTREMELY hard to see with the way I like the camera. I was so confused why I got stunned until I guessed and turned around during it. Not getting stunned, I changed the camera and finally saw it.

Did E5 last night. I get it's a new raid and there's a lot of first-timers like myself. And for the record, I consider myself an average player on a good day. Slightly below average on most other days. But the one thing I do before going into any raid, trial or dungeon for the first time is watch a video.

Ramuh's mechanics are pretty straightforward. He drops a couple of staves, one is shorter than the other. Run to the shorter one. There are glowing orbs all over the platform. Run through them, they help mitigate damage and stack up to three times but any more than three stacks turns them into a debuff. Watch for the three clouds or whatever that will race across the platform occasionally. There's a large column AOE that runs down the center of the platform. Stand close to it or else it will knock you off the platform. And that's pretty much it.

Yet, people were dying left and right and we kept wiping over and over again. I understand it's brand new content so it's going to take a while for people to learn it. But I felt like saying in party chat, "People just take like five minutes to watch a video!" That's what I did and I didn't do too bad! And I even had fun! Until all the wipes started happening.

I'm dreading doing E6 tonight. Ifrit and Garuda at the same time? I watched a video and I'm already getting my Alka-Seltzer ready.

Got E7N in roulette today and we did pretty well, two wipes but after that s m o o t h.

I'll admit, I did this fight for the first time last night and I got hit by the stun twice before I finally saw it because I also angled my camera to see the floor better... I was pretty embarrassed.

I find it frustrating that we are three days into a new patch, and people will insist on giving a complete break down of all eden mechanics at the start of an eden match. When it's this new, it shouldn't be an issue to want to do it blind.

I tried to do Eden 6 for first time this evening, and as soon as I got in, the other player started to explain certain mechs. I asked for them not to, got a load of 'wtf' and 'wot the hell' from other players, and then when I died (because it's new content, of course I did), I got goaded with 'still don't want tips' followed by a list of key mechanics and how to avoid.

It's three days in, people. It's not entitled to want to do it fresh.

Contrast it with an awesome Ramuh, all new people, all puzzling out the mechanics, and the difference was night and day.

Yet, people were dying left and right and we kept wiping over and over again. I understand it's brand new content so it's going to take a while for people to learn it. The content isn't even a week old. Learn some patience.
