    And in this game, they put in maid outfits and bikinis. If it wasn't intended they wouldn't let you glam those items. This is deliberately different from say WoW where they restrict transmogs more so that you can't say, transmog a santa suit outside of their christmas holiday. FFXIV deliberately allows greater freedom, outside of role/job restrictions on battle gear. Ergo, tanking in a maid glam is intended and has the tacit approval of the dev team.

    Final Fantasy has a very long history of having outlandish outfits, and a lot are on main characters. The games have never completely taken themselves super seriously, and often push beyond the limits of what looks like practical combat gear. For many players this is part of their appeal.
