100% this. If casting Holy three times is chat spam, then Every single person in Limsa should be reported for harassment. Do you know how many emotes get flooded into the chat log there? It's absolutely absurd.
You can disable the stuff in chat you don't want to see really just go into the log and turn it off if you don't want to see it in the chat.Honestly I don't understand some of the notifications that pop-up in the chat log to begin with. Like why do I need a notification whenever someone else crafts an item? Or even that I crafted the item? I already know that I crafted the item. Or when I or someone else gathers items. I can see when someone else levels up, that's a *somewhat* special occasion to be celebrated. Usually the first thing I do when starting a new character is edit out my chat log to display only /tell, /say, /party or any linkshells I have active.
Well one could assume its for when your making something for someone nearby to teach them how to do it or what they are making for them honestly is all I can come up with reason wise.
HOLY doesn't appear in the chat log if you use default settings.
So unless there was a Macro, or he was doing it just to be annoying and was asked to stop...
I doubt it's simply he was using Holy and got reported for using Holy.
How long does it take to blacklist someone who's spamming in chat? Not long at all- so we should just allow it, so they shouldn't get banned for doing it?You can go outside the city to cast it.
Okay, so if you see 3 other people using it, and you come use it too, making it just colorful. Who is bothered by this. In a game. Where you can walk away. Where you can turn off spell effects. I 100,000% bet you, it took longer to report someone for something that the person felt "bothered by" than to turn off other players spell effects. It takes like 5 seconds to turn them off tops. Even on console. And the point of me saying that is "But why defend spamming" You can't call it bad in 1 place and good in another if the whole point the guy is saying is "Why defend spamming"
No sympathy. You tried on reddit and failed, so you wanna get people to make you feel better trying to be as annoying as possible?
It should've been a ban instead of a suspension.
honestly ya they shouldn't be banned if you don't want to read it or look at it or you have a proplem with it use a blacklist instend of being a little snitch that doesn't have a ditch.
I feel no sympathy. The only reason to stand around spamming holy in a town would be to annoy people with it. Being able to blacklist someone doesn't mean they shouldn't get a suspension for spamming you in whispers, turning off spell effects doesn't mean someone spamming like this to be annoying shouldn't be punished. Doing it once or twice is one thing, spamming is another.
