Hiding glamours isn't really a censor either. Its a simple option they should allow. A censor would be banning the use of the glamour all together. Not affecting how one single person sees you.It seems like this is another thing about intention. It looks like this is deferring loading the characters appearances and just loading a standard model which gets replaced as things are loaded in, with a toggle that lets you defer until you start a mission?
That's not really a censor, it's a feature to make the game load faster.
Censoring isn't an all or nothing thing, the feature requested is a personal level censor.
It's not a feature to help the game load faster or make PvP easier, it a feature individuals can use to suppress the appearances of others so they don't have to actually be tolerant of the targets personal choices .
One could argue the game would load faster. If everyone is wearing the exact same thing on your side, it wont have to load each asset when you load in. So your argument isn't factual. And I mean, its more oppressive to remove someones right to choice in the content in their game. It hurts NO ONE to allow someone to hide someone else's glamour. It only has benefits for the ones who don't want to see something. Regardless of the reason.Censoring isn't an all or nothing thing, the feature requested is a personal level censor.

I fail to see how there's any benefit at all...
"My immersion" or whatever is already impossible to achieve. "It hurts my eyes" is a lie and you know it. "It's obnoxious" is bigotry in disguise. There's no benefit that makes sense to me other than "I just want it, okay?" and that seems petty to request valuable development time for. SE has only so many hours in a day to do this stuff, ya know. Such a feature might cost us something else.
Literally the entire argument is "It doesn't hurt other people, so why not" when, it kinda does though. I want to be seen a certain way by other players, and being denied that can affect me as well. If I want to express myself as a fat-chocobo-hat-wearing naked femroe then by golly that's how people will see me if I have anything to say about it. You create a doubt in peoples minds when just maybe they see me as something I'm not. I don't want to be uncertain of how people see me as. That's why a lot of people don't like mods and modded gear.
Also.... won't it just be everyone walking around in miss-matched armor? Like these people don't realize that most gear-sets clash and don't look good at all if in mixed sets. So you'll be stuck in a world of awful fashion, not perfect harmony. Not to mention the issue of dyes too. Like glamoured gear is dyed but when you unglamour it the dye doesn't carry over. So how will the new de-glamoured gear look?
The post-hidden-glam world would be fashion anarchy, even more so than it is now.
This. Perfectly said.Censoring isn't an all or nothing thing, the feature requested is a personal level censor.

And people have to be tolerant of your choices because you paid their subs? We are policing thoughts now?Censoring isn't an all or nothing thing, the feature requested is a personal level censor.
