They are all forms of expression. You appear to be okay with blocking the ones that are offensive to you, but want to control what other people are allowed to find offensive.

One is putting together bits of clothing the devs have curated and are happy with which you'll only see while you're near each other, if it's really that much of an issue you can drop from the party, do runs with your FC, etc.
Chat can be used to hound players in a completely free-form manner with few real barriers short of what's against the ToS and which would require GM intervention to stop without the blacklist feature.

So you won't acknowledge that there are some people who dress in certain choices of attire and behave in certain ways with the specific purpose of harassment and riling up others? If that is okay and something we have to 'deal with', why can't the same be said about the /blist option in general?

You cannot harass someone with only clothes from a game. If you feel harassed by someone else's wardrobe, you need to do some serious self reflection. No one in this game can wear a t-shirt that says "lalafells suck" or "<player name> is a noob". You literally cannot harass by just wearing clothes in this game.

A person could stand on top of you and emote spam or follow you around, but this would be annoying regardless of their wardrobe. The person's actions would be the harassment, not their clothing. SE may take a report of being consistently followed seriously, but the added detail of "they were in a pig suit" wouldn't matter in the slightest to them.

Never mind how developing a blacklist feature is far cheaper, faster and easier than developing something that literally changes how every player looks. The cost of the option OP wants is astronomical compared to something that merely prevents bodies of text being seen.

I'm glad you can speak for everyone. Perhaps to some, especially someone who is quite religious, seeing a big Roe in a dress is more offensive than all the verbal blasphemies one could muster. Before you ask, no, I'm not deeply religious and think you can wear whatever you want. However, my mind is at least open enough to acknowledge that different people can have different preferences and things that offend them. Why is it okay for you to be offended by certain things but not okay for these people to have things they are offended by? Who are you to be the arbiter of what other people are allowed to be offended by?

No one is forcing anyone to look at anything, to be fair. People can either ignore it and move on...or make threads like this, which is silly at best. If I had made a thread for every time I saw a hulking male Roe in a subligar and a pig helmet this forum would be filled with threads daily, on the hour every hour. And I would look like a complete fool. Not the roe in a subligar and pig helmet. Me.

You could say that I'm intolerant towards two things within this thread.

1) I'm firmly against something that will diminish the breadth and variety of people that one will 'experience' within this game

2) And in turn the root of my objection here, I'm very firmly against anything that further encourages the dehumanisation and devaluation of other players where it is explicitly not warranted (aka /blist for spam or abuse reasons).

If that makes me intolerant then that's a flag I'll proudly fly.
