It's time (Option to Hide other players Glamour)

Glamour spell is a context that exist within FFXIV lore. Even Alisaie made a joke about it during Stormblood.

FFXIV tells your story, and you are the main character of your game, so, if I see a Roe using a dress/bikini/whatever, I just see another adventure using glamour in the way he wants, my character sees a funny guy/girl or someone with poor fashion taste, she laughs(or not) and moves on. It just don't interfere with my ingame life and don't break my immersion.

Disable or replace it on only your own computer, not everyones.

I know it been said many of the pages i just thought i did not need to mention that but i guess i was wrong about that

For people who still would like to make their own characters appear in a customized way and people who like the variety and "creativeness" of others glamours. . Again, this isn't disabling it for EVERYONE, just on the computer of people who want to enable the option.

Solutions to this have been proposed: normalized AF gear instead or full on full character replacements (gear, weapon, face) .

I think u mean head gear if not that then what u are asking is altering your character completely and again I know where it would be enabled

Why does the idea that you're going to have a placeholder generic representation on someone elses screen who doesn't like customized glamours or certain glamours bother you? You prefer knowing that you're inspiring distaste or hate rather than indifference?

so asking if i glamour only for a negative affect? no i glamour to inspire others to glamour or something like that

people should be tolerant of others in game and in real life

and the people that would be using that feature is not because distaste or hate????? it works both ways.. this just is my thought of the matter would i stop playing if it was implemented properly not

There was one response that said they might be OK with it if the entire character was replaced since it wouldn't be a misrepresentation of their character, I.E. their character in weird clothes. So I mean Face and yes, full character replacement. Just as consideration for that particular concern.

but just want to have a way to avoid having to look at certain glamours.

For that I recommend holding down the W or S key, rotating your camera, using your eyes to look away, or a combination of any of the 3.

You could make that sort of argument for pretty much any quality of life feature.

'We don't need the inventory size to be increased, just manage your items better.'

'We don't need an easy mode for MSQ solo duties. Just learn how to play.'

'We don't need fishing icons changed, just look at the rod movement.'

Luckily the development team are pretty good at accounting for a global audience and I have faith that a suggestion along these lines is not an impossible task with that in mind. You may not intend to use it or see the benefit of it and that's fine - but for other players it'd be a major perk for various reasons.

While I don't care what other people see this would be distressing for people who NEED to have other people seeing their glamour and would be a clear indication this was happening and totally defeat the purpose of this being client side only.

If this, which it has almost no chance it will be, is implemented make it so whoever has the option on appears in default glamour on my screen.

If that person doesn't want to see my glamour, I don't want to see theirs then. And I shouldn't have to disable everyone's glamours to achieve that.

An option to give everyone a default armor (for each role) that all look the same would be fine too imo. Wouldn't use it too much, but just want to have a way to avoid having to look at certain glamours.

There's no need for personal attacks. It's also against the rules to compel a play-style - so please stop dismissing player concerns by telling them to just look away. It's not that simple and doesn't account for players who show up in cutscenes.

I'm not entirely sure how much plainer I can say this..

The point is that only the initiating players experience is changed, nobody else NEEDS to know about it and it's even been mentioned by several people in this very thread (opposers of this option btw) that it distresses them just to think about it, imagine how much worse it'd be for them if they had an actual representation of how many people weren't seeing their glamours?

Nah, I don't think this is worth the dev team's time. If someone has a glam you don't like just deal with it.
