as HAS been said in the thread before I will repeat: A choice to not have to deal with jarring or undesirable visuals too? Because that is a choice some of us would like that you , by your own rules, would have to deal with.

These are people that would want to make it illegal to use a marker to draw mustaches and glasses on pictures of people in a newspaper that is delivered to your house - after it's already delivered and in your house.

The impasse we have is that they feel the thought of someone out there seeing them not as they've carefully crafted is the worst possible thing, while the supporters feel that being able to enjoy their game as they please is more important. It comes down to personal values and we're very likely never to get anyone to compromise on those.

however there is merit in further discussing with people who have particular addressable problems or will even present their own solutions such as replacing their characters entirely so that no claim could be made that they are being misrepresented as all identifiable customizations would be hidden. Generic placeholder faces, equipment and hair would solve a lot of the possible objections though I'm sure there will always be some opposition to the idea you could be edited out of someone elses experience.
