On the one hand, that was some serious reading fail on my part. Apologies for that.

On the other... it's boggling my mind a bit that the Sky Pirate coat could be considered not-job-appropriate to the extent of being singled out as an "immersion breaking" glamour.

As soon as the replica gear was released and I could look at it as something to use for any job I wanted, I immediately thought it would go perfectly with the Lv60 Scholar relic gear, and I've been using it combined with the relic hat and gloves for my Elezen alt. It looks like a scholar outfit to me, and not like I've borrowed tank gear for it.

I wouldn't personally see anything wrong with it being used for the other healers, either. In fact it's exactly the sort of thing I'd be looking for to put together a masculine healer outfit - elegant and fitting, while still having a long coat so it looks great in motion when casting spells.

How dare you not have a robe as a healer ?

Seriously, let people glam what they want, and if that troubles you, just... don't look at them ? There have been bikini tankers and exhibitionists (thongs roegadyn, I'm looking at you boys) since the glamours were made a thing. You just want this to change because you don't want to see male hyurgoths in wedding dresses. And I understand how that might trouble you, but you don't know, maybe that dude in a wedding dress needs to dress like that to feel good, so maybe, just maybe, you're in the wrong there. Let people do what they want as long as it doesn't affect you on another level than "I don't like it".

Whilst it has been made a few times over the years, I think they're not believing the comment in the OP about it not being about men in wedding dresses and the timing being kinda...off and whilst coincidences happen, I can see how one might think it's BS and be suspicious that the ulterior motive here is that the OP doesn't want to see men in dresses but is using an existing debate to push the same result. "I don't like men in dresses" is not going to win many people over.

That aside, for the actual argument, if ithey're not working on something else that's more important, sure, but even as an immersive player, it's pretty low on my list. And whilst it might mean if I were to use it, I'd lose people in frog suits fighting Hades, I might have horribly mismatched gear that looks out of place and ugly because there's pieces from different sets. I am all for choice, but I care so little that I'd rather see time spent elsewhere as many parts of the game still feel unfinished.

I wouldn't have a problem with this option except for two things, it would take up resources that I think could be better spent elsewhere and I would hate my character to appear unglammed as it's usually an ugly mish-mash of gear. However, if the option was for other players to appear glammed or wearing the gear from the Hall of the Novice, I'd be ok with it.

That said, I do wonder about your motivation in asking for this, OP. It does seem your issue isn't with bikini-wearing tanks or novelty glams like frog-suits, but specifically with people playing male characters who choose glams that wouldn't normally be considered 'masculine'.
So, female character wearing next to nothing, cool - Guy in a dress, OMG! Somebody fetch my smelling-salts and cover them up!
That seems a bit hypocritical to me.

I'd also take issue with your earlier assertion:

Isn't it possible they simply want to look fabulous? Just because it isn't your idea of 'fabulous' doesn't automatically mean it's a troll.

Sadly i dont think it is going to be easy thing to implement from technical point of view and SE probably never will do it, but the idea is ok.

If SE wishes to have their game targeted for unadult audience they should implement something like this long time ago.

I mean I'm not opposed but I'm just imagining everybody still leveling and/or not in a full matching set looking even more like a clown show than the "silly" glamours lol...

It's why I miss transmog so much in classic WoW :'(

    Pretty nice troll thread here

You seemingly can't go five seconds without cycling through your random insult generator to make your arguments. "I don't want to look at [race] in [derogatory adjective] because it upsets me."

How is someone dressing the way they want forcing their expression on you? You don't have to look at it. Do you know how absurd and narcissistic it sounds to be so bothered by the way other people look that you feel the need to shield your eyes from the scary outside world over other peoples' existence? You are essentially saying that another person's self expression regardless of intention bothers you enough that you need a game feature to cover your eyes and hold your hand because you don't like something so HARMLESS. Appearance is not harmful as long as it's not representing something harmful, like hate organizations. The fact you get so offended by people that havent even spoken to you speaks volumes.

We're not just talking about "it doesn't affect them" and how it's "optional" anymore, we're talking about the fact you think someone's appearance warrants you to not only insult them, but gives you permission to pick and choose what you get to see on the basis of "I don't like it." would you really walk up to someone in game and tell them that you find their character/glamour ugly? I'd hope you wouldn't, and that doesn't mean you should come on here and do it either. You can hate on silly or ugly glamours as much as you want but insulting someone's character/appearance because of what they're wearing does not get much lower in terms of pettiness and narcissism.

I have my own fair share of glamours I don't like but never have I felt compelled to insult people for wearing them nor felt so entitled to anothers appearance that I wanted to change it for myself. The "be and let be" argument is a funny one to make in favor of this considering you're definitely not "being" by getting so worked up over a personal choice which everyone has the right to make.

Im gonna agree for the same reason Theodric mentioned, the first time i did the ShB final MSQ trial the tank was wearing the 'Pepega' outfit and i just felt weird seeing him in a cutscene in the conclusion of 5.0s story.
Dungeons as well etc, just no man.

Does not hurt anyone anyway having that option

I'm pretty sure all Miqo'te are just glamour, not only their outfit. If you remove glamour those cute catgirls in bikinies propably turn into overweight neckbeards wearing anime-shirts. IS THAT REALLY WHAT YOU WANT?!
