If only all the "you don't get to choose how I look" people knew about graphic mods.

There's lots of people out there putting you in some.. compromising gear.

I really don't like the prospect of that either (and dislike the idea of mods in general for putting people "not on the same page" about what gear looks like), but it's still different to the game officially permitting other players to change how you look.
